Not saying Mosley will beat FMJ, but he has a good of a chance than any other WW.
only idiots say mosley shouldn't be pbf's next opponent if not the winner of pac/cotto.

Oh wait...but I'm sure this is going to get turned into, "Shane brings nothing to the table"

Yet its Mosley's bad for wanting to fight a guy who's undefeated and the former champ in the division? What are his fans so afraid of? It's not as if Mosley has this big chance of winning, does he?

Nobody said Shane was bad for offering a fight. The thread and posting says that he "deserves a fight'.

        This is how it goes:

Champion: I'm willing to give you a fight. you can have a title shot.
Contender: I'm all good. You do you.
        Champion: Oh, aight. Peace.
        Contender: Stay cool, my dude

            No, seriously.

I think FMJ is the #1 or #2 P4P fighter in the world. i'll tell you on Novermber 15.

But Floyd should be ranked about #5 at WW.

P4P rankings are based on skill and perception of opinion of skills. But the actual weight rankings are (or should) reflect accomplishments. Preferably at that weight.

I think that Cotto , Shane, margarito and clottey are all more accomplished than Floyd at WW. Maybe not on Clottey.

So, floyd should be #4/#5 at WW.

            Is that a reasonable perspective?

He's the best welterweight in the world right now. It should be does Floyd deserve a shot at Mosley's crown, considering Sugar Shane is the champ and Floyd hasn't fought a welterweight in 3 years.

Of course TECHNICALLY, Mosley is the Champion and SHOULD be the person choosing his opponents.
But obviously right now, FMJ dictates who he fights, because let's face it, everyone at this point wants to fight him.

Floyd doesnt have a belt......all he has is the pretty record and that mythical title that he and Pac are playin' tug-a-war with!!!.....does Floyd deserve a shot at the TRUE WW champ Shane Mosley?!?.....that should be the REAL question......but in these days of PPV numbers and 24/7's it's Shane who has to ask for the fight......the blood that loves to compete should be bubbling in Floyd to fight Shane......but I guess a challenge is not what he's after....he's lookin' for EASY money.....can't knock his hustle but dam......he can't even keep being lame discreet!!

It makes sense for Mosely to fight Mayweather, because if he wins he gets the glory, if he loses he can always fall back on his advanced age. For Mayweather its a losing situation because if he wins people will just say Mosely was old. I dont really care about Mosely as long as he fights the winner of Pac/Cotto.

                      Yes. I agree with you.

And Shane, who has the belt, experience, TWO fights with Oscar, the respect of the fanbase, and sixteen years of visibility should be asking himself why he is in the position of begging a contender for a fight.

I'm 100% comfortable with anyone who says that Floyd should want to fight the champion and get the belt. That's fine. If he is a wuss for that, cool.

But a champion has the responsibility to defend his belt. A contender doesn't have the obligation to pursue a belt.
