No. But because he wants it for the wrong reasons. Ill explain.
He would be fighting for money not legacy. Which makes me believe Mayweather would treat him like another JMM and i want to see Mayweather fight a guy that just wants to beat the hell out of him.
If i were mosely i would wait to see the loser of the Cotto-Pacquiao fight. If it was Pacman who loses then fight him and if he won that one then go after mayweather and FORCE him to fight. Boo Hooing like he did after JMM vs. Mayweather will never work
New to the sport eh?
How do you think the Tarver Jones series came about?
Si, Mosley es un real Welterweight y merece pelear contra Mayweather, por su victoria contra Margarito y su resumen. Sin embargo, Cotto esperó mas tiempo que Mosley y, claramente, derrotó a Sugar Shane.
Mayweather = Former & Last Lineal Welterweight Champion.
First 1.5 yrs as a pro, won a world title - without a title eliminator or interim title ... and in his first 17 or 18 fights
+ 10 consecutive years as a world champion
+ 5-WBC titles in as many weight classes
+ 6-time world champion, in his first 10 yrs as pro
+ All championships he won were off of reigning champions - no vacant titles -
+ He was a challenger in a fight 6 times and has a 6-0 2KO
+ 15 current/former world champions faced
23-title fights (23-0 record)
3 linear titles
all this happened during a streak of 39 straight victories and within the first 10 yrs of his professional career.
No one in the history of boxing has accomplished that without havinng taken a loss or more
He's only 1 championship away from tying the record held by Sugar Ray Robinson and thats winning 7 world champions ...
He's currently tied with Sugar Ray Leonard with legitimized championship in 5 different weight classes.
I'm not saying you have to like the man but he's one of the best of all-time ...
It also has been confirmed that (not including linear titles) Pacquiao has won titles in only 4 weight classes (with as many alphabet titles) and Oscar didn't have many legitimized titles ...

Where is Joshua Clottey on that list?
Where is Margario on that list?
Where is Shane Mosley on that list?
Floyd is the only current active welterweight that has been a lineal champion of the division...
So that tells me not only has he fought top welterweights, but he is the top welterweight until someone proves him wrong.

FACTS are Beautiful thing.
Facts are facts, but the fights are what are talked about as the years pass on. How many people talk about Hagler or Leonard's titles more than who they actually fought? Even Oscar fought the big fights win or lose. It's not about keeping your "0" by fighting a less risky fighter more than continuously proving yourself time and time again against the biggest challenges and being able to maintain your "0".
We can post facts about every top fighter in history that would raise eyebrows, but do we talk more about that or who in the end they fought in their career?
I don't believe Floyd is scared of Mosley, but some of ya'lls excuses make it seem so. I bet Floyd himself smh's with some of the stuff that's written from his fans on here gearing towards him (I know I would lol)
I personally believe Mosley deserves a shot. Mosley as of now would have had a good chance of beating anybody Mayweather beat.
Not saying Mosley will beat FMJ, but he has a good of a chance than any other WW.
Is Mayweather the champion?
Since when do we discuss the champion "deserving a shot" against a contender....the 5th best Welterweight?
Since when do we discuss the champion "deserving a shot" against a contender....the 5th best Welterweight?
How did the sport get turned so upside down?
Then Floyd should be happy!!! It's not everyday a champion asks the challenger for a fight now, right? (LOL @ #5 WW)
Oh wait...but I'm sure this is going to get turned into, "Shane brings nothing to the table"
Yet its Mosley's bad for wanting to fight a guy who's undefeated and the former champ in the division? What are his fans so afraid of? It's not as if Mosley has this big chance of winning, does he?
