Jordan, Pavlik's power is a problem but it won't be against Williams mark my words.

Hopkins beat Pavlik by not letting him get off, having faster hands, and smothering him inside. I see Williams fighting a similar fight only that he will throw more punches and probably clinch more(clinching is the best weapon to use against Pavlik), Taylor never clinched.
Yes, Williams proved himself as a good inside fighter, at least for a guy with such huge reach. I believe he certainly has a chance to beat Pavlik, who might not even be the same after the ass whooping Hopkins administered to him. But Williams can't beat Pavlik like Hopkins.

We'll see, Williams is a tough man, but he has been stunned before against smaller men.

The man? Williams( 6 ft 2" Paul Williams former welterweight who would blow up 17+ and more pounds fight night) made his name taking advantage of his size in a division he dwarfed. I like Paul Williams and think he is a unique boxer with a great workrate, good chin and unique physical attributes that have made him successful but the easy fights are behind him now. We will see if he can live up to the recent hype in this fight vs Pavlik.

Pavlik is also a guy with a high work rate but way more power than Paul has ever seen. Paul was able to neutralize Margarito's work rate by fighting from the outside and staying out of exchanges/ avoiding cement in gloves. Unfortunately for PW Pavlik gets most of his work done at a distance so Paul will have a lot of leather coming back at him and a lot of long damaging jabs getting stuck in his face.

The good thing for Paul is that Kelly has been out for a long time now and has a hand injury that could still give him some problems both preparingfor the fight and in the ring.

I think Paul will get chased around for about 8 rounds before getting stopped and that afterwards he should look to head back to Jr middle and try to dominate.

He spars with heavyweights. All I read is posters talking about his chin...Like seriously, is that it? Is that what's going to win Pavlik this fight? Williams' chin?.....Okay.

He has abnormal stamina. Keeping up with 100+ punches per round for 12 rounds vs Margarito is something that no other fighter was able to do with Tony at the moment. Who the hell smiles in the 12th round vs a guy like Winky Wright, who's used to seeing his opponents concerned on how to figure his style out?

After his loss to Quintana, he's turned into a better finisher. Winky Wright was not supposed to see the 12th round, that was supposed to be a stoppage loss for Wright because of the punishment his face was taking. But i guess he didn't want to go out like a quitter which is understandable.

I see this as a difficult fight for Pavlik, not Williams. imo.

            Any one else?
And Andy Lee sparred with Wladimir Klitschko in preparation for Ibragimov, what's your point?

If Williams can take Pavlik's power, he wins. We don't know yet if he can.

I don't know if P-Will can hurt Pavlik and I don't know if P-Will can Pavlik's punch. I think P-Will should win, but it will be entertaing nonetheless.

pwill is going to crumble under pavlik's crushing power.. I cant see him avoiding pavlik's straight right for 12 rounds not with his defense..

Winky was suppose to be his first real challenge? Uh Oh. I must be the only person on these forums who thought Winky looked horrible. He had zero stamina and he looked out of shape. Prime Winky would of beat the hell out of Williams.

Paul can do really well against Pavlik on the inside with his creative hooks and uppercuts. He just has to make sure to keep giving him angles and spoil him and he'll be fine.

Pavlik likes to fight guys who back straight up and eventually end up on the ropes. Paul never, ever lays on the ropes. If you can stay off the ropes you can at least avoid getting stopped by Pavlik. I really don't see Pavlik winning a decision over the faster, more skilled Williams. Pavlik is up against it in this fight.
