The Saudis made it so they have no choice. Either get with the program or fall behind. Money talks, B.S walks. Fans can say what they want but an infusion of money is what this sport needed to make the big fights. Hopefully Alalshikh can continue to convince the hierarchy to support the game. They are all over golf and auto racing. “You’re investing in sports, which is one of the few growth industries in the world,” Dan Durbin, director of the Institute of Sports, Media and Society at USC, said of the Saudi strategy. “It is, as far as we can see, an almost endless growth industry.”

Idk about that.
1)How long do rich guys stay interesting in boxing if they aren't making money?
Thats an important question I don't think we got a clue about yet. Maybe they get tired of losing money in 2yrs, maybe 10yrs or maybe they never tire or start making money. Who knows is more my take than a positive or negative take, but it seems like something that'll be relevant sooner or later.
2)What happens if Turki dies?
We know Turki has some serious illness that sounds life threatening or has in the past been life threatening. This guy might not have a lot of time left to keep this going. And from what I've gathered he seems like a legit hardcore fan with a massive bank acct to make any fight he wants happen. So idk if he passes if he's replaceable.Comment

I like turki he's not afraid of paying a good price to provide us with great events/fights. Only thing I'm not to keen on was the holding of young Francis Warrens hand he looked panic stricken in the photos bless himComment

He's not spending his own money , the Saudi Royal family is funding this. They aren't in it to make money , it's a promotional campaign for their country and to make people forget their human rights record. As long as we are getting the fights, I don't care who puts them on or why. Maybe these clownass promoters will wake up and do right by the fans before Turki completely gets rid of them. He's a boxing fan , but he's replaceable.
I've seen plenty of boxing over there. Turki isn't the only one whos doing boxing in Saudi. But hes the only one I've seen make a mark on the sport this big. I don't think hes replacable at all. And if hes legit on a ticking clock beyond the one we all are & they are looking to continue to do boxing events til the end of time they'd be smart to have him mentor someone who can take over for him if hes not here in 5yrs.Comment

Geez tho. We lost general manufacturing to China, textiles to Vietnam, monopoly on cars to Japan/Korea, and now boxing to Saudi Arabie/Dubai. What else can we export?
What does America do well anymore? It's like being pulled apart from within by greed and incompetence.
Young people today don't even know what it was like to live in an America with busy hands and big balls.
Ok. I'm done. Resume normal conversation.
And as a distraction they blame "immigrants"Comment

Im not sure they blame "immigrants" for losing factories or boxing, if anything. My family is immigrants. It's the illegals who get the heat, if any.Comment
