If Ennis wants an opponent with the "name"..

    ...than he needs Haney.

It is what it is. Ask Haney to move up or go fight all that no-name opponents.

Moving up to 154 for fighting more dangerous champions is even a worse idea.

Haney isn't a bad option IF Haney moves up. Thing is Haney has been moving super smart with measured risks. To me if I'm Team Haney there is no way I'm debuting at 147 vs fooking Boots. Too big of a risk imo. Moving up, fighting a softer guy or for a vacant belt is the superior move for Team Haney than fight Boots in a unification and when you've gotten accustomed more at 147. Better move wb to wait til Boots moves up to 154.

      You are actually right.

Ennis must go GGG route. If the names dont't fight you..go and fight everybody else in your division.

Maybe are Tszyu and Ortiz jr. big fights at 154 for him in the future.

Now that he actually has a legit promoter at this point Ennis just needs to fight someone preferably in the overall top 10 of 147. A quick glance at last year's annual ring rankings shows 147 as Crawford-Spence-Boots-Ortiz-Stanionis-Santillan-Crawley-Avanesyan-Giasov-Barrios-Rocha.

Obviously he can't get Crawford or Spence but someone from Ortiz and on gotta be willing to fight.

Hey, if he's supposed to beat Crawford, and Crawford is supposed to beat Canelo, and Benavidez is supposed to beat Canelo, then maybe Boots should fight Benavidez. Or how about Jermell or Jermall show up finally at least? Maybe Andrade?

I think Ennis should really try to unfiy at welterweight, if he can manage to fight for undisputed even better, but if not, if he's able to unify and get a big fight at 154lbs afterwards, I would expect him to move up to 154lbs sooner rather than later in search of bigger and more meaningful fights instead of waiting for Haney or other smaller fighters to come up to him.

147 is a wasteland without bud and errol.

Barrios isn't a threat and Stanionis has loss all of his momentum.

Boots needs to go to 154 win a strap and that will open up the possibilities for bud, errol, ortiz fights

Why not become a name at 147 first ? Isn't that his weightclass in the first place ? BTW Ennis is Jeff Lacy 2.0. Physical he is strong for the weight, but that is it.

Unlikely that Haney will go for that as his next fight. If I'm advising Haney I'd say unify at least once at 140 then an easier guy for the first fight at 147.

If/when Crawford vacates, PBC will control the WBC and WBA belts. They won't fight Boots. Top 2 WBO contenders are Santillan (Arum) and Giyasov (Hearn). If Santillan wins, Arum won't put him in with Boots. So his options are limited at 147, and he might be forced to rematch Karen.

They're talking as if Crowley is next. Not a bad fight. After that he might get an opportunity for a big fight at 154.

The division could be just ok, if Ennis, Barrios, Santillan, Giyasov and others fought each other. Nobody fights nobody.
