Jared Anderson hopes to use Saturday's fight with Ryad Merhy as a springboard towards a lucrative future date in Saudi Arabia. The undisputed heavyweight title fight on May 18 in Riyadh, between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, is just the latest demonstration of the extent to which Saudi Arabia's wealth has allowed them to almost buy the heavyweight division.

Exactly. He hasn't even proved that he's good enough for an undercard event in SA.

What about being chased by police and crashing a car while in posession of a firearm?

Until then he is more of a hype. Considering he doesn't have great amateur experience and this will be his 17th fight, it is probably early for him to go below the top 20.

Ryad Merhy probably has more pulse than Franklin and Helenius or at least is not worse than them. So an average opponent on a big event is a chance for Jared to deliver a spectacular victory which might boost him in the rankings and ensure him better opponents in future.

This is a joke, right? Did Bob put him up to this? I doubt the Saudis would want to suffer the presence of Bob.

The Saudis don't want anything to do with Bob or Al gaymon

Anderson would need to sign with hearn or Warren.
