Right, now hopefully others will give us cards like that, so we won't be talking about the UFC!

I get what you're saying, I like One FC a lot but to me its just a weird comparison given that One is a smorgasbord of different rulesets, the majority not MMA anymore. Big boxing cards are showcasing high level boxing, UFC cards are showcasing high level MMA, One FC cards for the most part are basically showcasing high level Muay Thai with a few other things mixed in, which is cool and all but obviously in terms of scale and star power its not the same.

He did have a good run but in NO WAY is Olivera vs Tsurkyan a better athletically skilled match than Bam vs. Gallo, no way in hell. Conceicao is a boxing gold medalist, had he been born in the USA, Boxing gold > wrastling.

And boxing always has good prelims, only hardcores ever watch though. Curmel Moton vs. Anthony Cuba was a better/higher skilled fight than Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller will be lol!
Canelo is bigger than any active UFC fighter yes, except for maybe Conor who is returning soon. But undercard wise like I said its not comparable. I mean you're saying nobody knows Oliveira when hes a far bigger star than anyone on the boxing undercard you made and tbh probably more known than Benavidez too.

Bear in mind i'm not talking about whether its good match ups in terms of competitiveness, skill level etc, I agree the card you put is good in that respect, i'm talking about the actual star power involved. You said it yourself, only hardcores watch boxing prelims for the most part. Guys like Bam, Matias, Naverrete, Cruz etc etc are completely unknown compared to a bunch of fighters on the UFC 300 undercard.

The UFC has been moving more & more away from name guys & are just a well oiled machine of this guy vs that guy in the almost no fan able to attend Apex venue for most of their shows to reduce expenses. They have fewer draws than ever & the value is all in "The UFC" over fighters these days. It was always hard to become a GSP or Conor, but its even harder now.
People say this a lot but I dont see it tbh. There are no Conors or GSPs at the moment but I dont think thats by design, its just extremely rare for stars of that magnitude to come along. The UFC name itself has ALWAYS had a degree of brand value and drawing power and things have been about big cards as much as individual stars, but they still push individual fighters hard. O'Malley being an obvious recent example. They fast tracked Poatan too and turned him into one of the UFCs biggest stars in like a year.

The Apex shows are ****ing horrific though, no doubt about that.

We can only hope! Honestly hope the Ginger card flops so that it's a wake up call

No. Because the tank fight would consume 80% or more of the revenue, not leaving enough to make the Benevidez fight.

Let's go! Ufc 300, I'm a life long fan of both & the ufc has now overtaken my boxing viewing as I watch almost every card.
Financially the ufc makes more middle class earners than boxing as we all know that money only goes to the top. Boxing ppvs simply aren't worth it.

UFC degraded the MMA but it is now officially a pro wrestling organisation. I lost interest years ago because of the fading quality of fighters especially those considered top-ones.

Tank and Benavidez on the same card is already in the works!

Benavidez Relegated To Undercard Status, Opportunities Stalled
                      By Jeepers Isaac - 04/05/2024

Jose Benavidez Sr. tried to put a positive spin on his son David’s undercard status on the Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin card on June 22nd, calling it “an honor...”

Benavidez’s placement on the Tank vs. Martin undercard on Amazon Prime PPV is worrisome, as it indicates that he’s not a big enough draw to headline a card on his own.
