Why oh why has he stalled his career again FFS, who is advising this guy. Saudis obviously aren't knocking on his door, he should of been fighting top dudes at 147 or 154 to maybe try to force the Canelo fight to the Saudis, if that is what he's been waiting for

That's just bogus.
Never fought Andrade when they were both champions at 154 and 160.
Tried to age out GGG for each one of their three fights and took roids too for the rematch.
Now he waiting for Benavidez to become outgrow 168lbs so that he can weight drain him.
It can be knocked because it’s utter BS
and in regards to GGG, Canelo was still fighting at 154 for a couple of years while “we” were asking for that fight. He defended or won a Belt vs Liam Smith at 154, took a money fight vs JCC Jr, and went straight into Golovkin. I’m a firm believer that you can’t duck somebody if they don’t fight at your own weight. He took a few opportunities and tune ups above 154 (Cotto for lineal, Khan, Chavez) AS HE SHOULD to prepare for who was seen to be the boogey man of boxing (GGG) and then took the fight.
same with Andrade who came into his own at 154 even later than Charlo. Canelo was already gone. Then Andrade went on to become a 2 weight world champion without ever beating a standing world champion (Andrade has only won vacant titles against scrubs) and then called out Canelo when he was at 168 while Andrade was as still at 160.
not at all saying that Canelo v either one of these guys a few years back wouldn’t have been interesting fights. But these were not fights that made sense, or the fans were demanding on the level of GGG / Benavidez.Last edited by JLC; 04-12-2024, 07:13 AM.

The only difference is that Caneo jumped ship and the sacrificial lamb stayed and rightfully so. If he was forced to fight any real top 10 guys in his weight class he would have been dispatched and out of the business years ago but he didn't, and now he'll make 10-15 million because of GB promotions.
