    How about Bud Crawford vs Caleb Plant?

    If Bud is serious about wanting to fight Canelo at 168, why not show it and fight a guy like Plant? A great test for him against a contender in the division to see how he handles the weight.

    If he wins in decent fashion, and I'm not convicned he does, call out Saul in the post-fight media scrum and start a pressure campaign on Canelo for "ducking the current P4P King".

    Demand for the fight would then be at a fever pitch.

      Why would Bud jump 3 divisions to fight Plant for zero belts? That's not a fight to end your career on.

              i say one of the charlos is who he should face next
              they would be more winnable fights for a belt as well
              that would help him get canelo fight

                  Benavidez beating Plant didn't get him an immediate Canelo fight.

                  TC shouldn't even be thinking about Canelo. He should try to become Undisputed at 154.

                          Canelo is reluctant to fight David, but the P4P #1 and naturally smaller guy hunting you, moving up 3 divisions is a different narrative.

                          Undisputed at 154 is the easier route, but it's also less lucrative.

                                  I don't think there's a springboard to Canelo. Dude does wtf he wants lol. Nothing to gain for Crawford fighting Plant. Also, measurables are a huge part in why team Crawford wants Canelo. Roughly the same height, Crawford has the reach and athletic advantage plus he's the biggest name.

                                      More like Bud vs Benavidez. Or, since Ennis is supposed to beat Bud, Ennis v Benavidez is the fight to make
