This is the result of Youtubers and social media addicts injecting themselves way too much in everything. Canelo was not even in Crawford team's radar at first. Now Bomac and Bud began to believe in the hype that he can beat everybody. So Bud will be waiting around some more and won't take any other fight... The Fundora/Tszyu winner was just smoke and mirrors to bide time.

Let's hope Munguia beats Canelo and see if Bomac and Bud would want that Jaime smoke.

      thinking about it further

bud started at 135, canelo at 154 so basically 20lbs between them

well, these days u guys who hydrate from 140 to 165 (not naming names) so weight classes are all over the place with guys weighing different things so maybe its not all that far fetched to think bud wouldnt beat canelo, only one way to find out

canelo i also feel is on the slide & could well be a perfect time to face him

Every single boxing fan and analyst is talking about Canelo NOT fighting Benavidez.
Canelo gets props for unifying the division but Ryder and Munguia rank below Benavidez in the division.
Canelo is in record saying he will NOT fight Mexican fighters out of respect BUT he goes to fight Munguia.

Canelo’s team say Benavidez didn’t “earn” a fight because he wasn’t respectful.

I am a huge Canelo fan and the only time I rooted against him was when he fought Floyd. He is the first man in history to unify the 168 division. Massive respect.

All that said, it is pretty obvious Canelo does not want to fight Benavidez for obvious reasons. The irony is that Canelo can actually give Benavidez a heck of a fight in a gallant loss.

        These are simple facts.

But I think 15lbs or just above the middleweight limit would be his best bet to keep his strengths because he's naturally very strong anyway. He bullied Spence in the battle of strength and Spence naturally is 154lb fighter could even go as high as 160 and canelo himself now is still a natural middleweight
I don't think the problem would be strength, rather speed and timing.

I weighed about 215 pounds the last time I played basketball. I played again when I lost 40 pounds, got out there, started running around, and was surprised at how light I felt.

Crawford may be surprised on fight night on how much heavier and slower he is. Maybe he is a freak of nature.

Canelo's "no Mexicans" only applies to Benavidez, not so much to Chavez Jr.
