I can understand and agree with the criticism of Canelo, but I see him as a great fighter who jumped into pro boxing at a very young age. He has 64 fights in 19 years which also counts. But if I have to narrow it down to his top fights only, I find it great enough, surely HoF, maybe a thin ATG, but this status is yet to be confirmed. He is still unlikeable, and de****able with a lot of corruption around his success.

Post up a better resume (with names as thread starter did) from an active fighter.

It is what I wrote: outside his good number of top fights and rightful criticism his activity is praisable.

          You're all over the place
          (Especially your last bit )

So, even with all of the criticism, there is no other resume worth naming

              Preferably an ACTIVE fighter
              1. Not sure why you brought up Benavidez in your first post. Never said he had a HOF resume and this is a different topic.

              2. Of course plenty of fighters have wins over declined fighters, but they also have consistent big wins.

              Usyk:
              Cruiserweight
Krzysztof Głowacki (26-0, 22 KOs) WBO champion
Mairis Breidis (23-0, 18 KOs) WBC champion
Murat Gassiev (26-0-1, 19 KOs) WBA and IBF champion.
Tony Bellew (30-2-1, 20 KOs) WBC champion

              Heavyweight
Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) Regular (Interim) WBA title
Anthony Joshua X2 (24-1, 22 KOs) (24-2) two time unified champion.

              Glowacki 30 years old
              Breidis 33 years old
              Gassiev 25 years old
              Bellew 35 years old
              Dubois 25 years old
Joshua X2 was 31 and 32 years old.

Of this list, only Bellew was declining though quite dangerous.

              Inoue:
              Light Flyweight:
Ryochi Taguchi (18-1-1, 8 KOs) WBA and IBF champion
Adrian Hernandez (29-2-1, 18 KOs) two time WBC champion.

              Super Flyweight:
Omar Narvaez (43-1-2, 1 DQ, 23 KOs) WBO champion
Antonio Nieves (17-1-2, 9 KOs) WBO champion

              Bantamweight:
Jamie McDonnell (29-2-1, 13 KOs) IBF champion
Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9 KOs) WBA champion
Emmanuel Rodriguez (19-0, 12 KOs) IBF champion
              Nonito Donaire X2 (40-5, 26 KOs) ( 42-6, 28 KOs) WBA champion
Jason Moloney (21-1, 18 KOs) WBO and IBF champion
Paul Butler (34-2, 15 KOs) two time IBF and WBO champion

              Super Bantamweight:
Stephen Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) WBC and WBO champion
Marlon Tapales (37-3, 19 KOs) WBA champion

              Taguchi 27 years old
              Hernandez 28 years old
              Narvaez 38 years old
              Nieves 30 years old
              McDonnell 32 years old
              Payano 34 years old
              Rodriguez 26 years old
Donaire 36 and 39 years old.
              Moloney 29 years old
              Butler 34 years old
              Fulton 29 years old
              Tapales 31 years old

Narvaez and Payano seem to have been declining, Donaire is a athletic phenom even by the first time they fought, but declined in the rematch. There are three potential HOF in Rodriguez, Moloney and Fulton. While Donaire is clearly going to be one or a ATG.

That comment was not pointed at you. Just in general.

When a guy is anointed ''face of boxing'', it's not by picking a name from a hat.

Put what seems to me, comparable resumes from active fighters, just wanted to write some examples.

Anthony Joshua, Juan Francisco Estrada and Dimitry Bivol could probably also be there if AJ beats Usyk in the Trilogy, Estrada upsets Rodriguez and Bivol beats Beterviev.

Canelo is face of Mexico and some aspects of South/Central/North America. When Canelo wanted big Saudi money they said, we'll have Benavidez one of those killers at 175. That about sums up his international appeal. Unfortunately AJ can't benefit for some reason like Canelo from rigged cards and shenanigans given if Canelo had landed the body shot on Usyk, Usyk would have been counted out or the cards would have been rigged.

TBS, I'd say Canelo is somewhere in the 40-50 range all-time.

You have a poor understanding: the criticism around Canelo is related to his PEDs problems and obviously corrupt refereeing. But I understand why some people find you, the Canelo fans, one of the most unpleasant.
