I’m all for making amends…which has been done already many times over. You may want to watch Morgan Freeman interview with Chris Wallace for context. Anywho, who deserves “reparations?” How is it calculated? Do the Irish, Chinese, Japanese, or any other marginalized group deserve reparations? Who pays? Do the African nations who started the slave trade have to also pitch in? How about nations still slave trading? Are they culpable? What other victims are afoot? What about the ***ish ancestors from WWII? I could go on and on and on because truly the list of those oppressed by the evil “Americans” is endless. But we all know that is not what this is about. It’s the endless cycle of victimhood that permeates a culture that is hell bent on being in perpetual victimhood. Where personal choices are now the fault of others and someone has to pay.

The Japanese did get reparations post WWII for their internment. Israel still gets reparations paid by Germany, and also gets a minimum $2b a year stipend from the USA who had no part in harming my people after the fall of the Weimar Republic. Indigenous groups are still getting reparations to this day as well in the form of tax breaks, land, the right to have casinos in states that legally don’t allow ********, the Italian American victims of lynchings in the south namely Louisiana got reparations due to Italy coming close to declaring g war on the usa for the treatment of Italian peoples in the southern states. Even the nation of Mexico was paid for the losses of what is now American territory after the Mexican American war. Slave owning “planters” were paid reparations for the loss of their enslaved workers after the civil war as well. The only group never to be paid direct reparations in the usa are the descendants of enslaved Africans going back to the 17th century. So I think they have a pretty good case for it. And it’s not just slavery, it’s the destruction of economic centres in places like Rosewood, Greenwood, Colfax, Wilmington, Atlanta in 1906, Elaine…the list goes on of mass ethnic cleansing and the destruction of towns, settlements, and economic centres. A debt is owed, and a debt not owed accrues interest. I support my fellow Americans of FBA ancestry in cashing in on their debt. It’s owed. This nation would not be what it is workout the blood of their ancestors nor the fruits of their labour, inventions, and patriotism in every war we have fought since the beginning of this country, and let us not forget, they didn’t get VA homeloans or the GI Bill after WWII…and home ownership in California alone has built generational wealth. Californians selling homes for $1-$3m are moving to Texas paying cash for 500k homes and living like kings.

My Guy! You've doing your homework for quite some time!!! I've been told that a problem for "FBAs" is we don't have a nationality like the Italians, Irish, ***s, and Japanese. So many of us didn't come directly from Africa, and were "trodding on the winepress" in the Caribbean in places like Barbadoes, Jamaica, and Hispaniola, even before being brought to North America, by the British, Spanish, and French! Not to mention how many were purchased in Brazil! Then add all the intermingling with the Native Peoples of the Caribbean, South, and Central Americas! So it's more complicated to say, "I'm Nigerian, or Ghanian, or Sengalese," even though it's quite possible! So the world has treated us very unfairly, because we can't stand before the World Court under one Flag, like the others you've mentioned!

What exactly is it that you disagree with me about? You merely said that Reparations for Blacks born in America with a lineage tied to American Slavery won't receive Reparations. Your tone implies that we don't deserve Reparations. You never supported your assertion. I supported mine and explained why we do and how others who've suffered far less have received Reparations.

I dont think reparations are feasible or ethical, because you would have to cause harm to millions of people who had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery, had no connection or lineage to it, and reaped no benefit from it. Money is not infinite. For the government to give it to one group, they must confiscate it from another. All this CRT nonsense is already doing plenty of damage to race relations as it is, trying to convince grade school kids that there are only oppressors or the oppressed, when the kids just want to be friends and play together.

Taking money or property from innocent people is not the answer to whatever victim issue you have going on.

Edit: I dont like even having these conversations, because most times people just want to act like because I have a different viewpoint, that somehow I'm pro slavery or whatever nonsense they spout off with. Nothing could be further from the truth. I just reject the idea that because slavery existed 200 years ago, that people TODAY have some weird claim to damages. Even if you have a direct lineage to a former slave, there is no guarantee that that distant relative (absent slavery) would have been a successful business person, or that they would have had any inheritance that somehow would have lasted 6 or 7 generations and would have ultimately been passed on to you. Its just as likely that they would have just been a working stiff that died broke, like 98% of the rest of the population, of ALL colors. Or even if they WERE successful, who can say that the previous 6 or 7 generations wouldnt have pissed it away? Or lost it all in the stock market? The idea that assumes that any wealth from 200 years ago would have still existed today is just silly.

The biggest downside to today's "woke" culture is that we have given up the right to debate, and the right to disagree, People are afraid to even talk about controversial topics, lest they end up "cancelled". So bad ideas (like reparations) rarely get challenged in the public square because people are afraid to take a position, because they dont want to be unfairly painted as racist, or trans phobe, or whatever boogeyman term pertains to the issue being discussed,
