Eh. It depends. I tend to believe a boxer & his team have an understanding, verbal or nonverbal, that when the going gets tough they will do x or y. And if they don't they should. So my opinion is his team didn't try to stop the fight cuz Tim didn't want it stopped despite how it impacted his ability to win.
I said similar when Wilder fired Mark Breland for stopping the Fury fight. For better or worse the corner works for the fighter & if the fighter wants to keep going regardless you gotta let a mfer be his own man. Breland is underrated af imho, but he deserved to be fired just like anyone on Tim's team would deserve to be fired if they stopped the Fundora fight & Tim hadn't wanted that.
That said if there was no such agreement & Tim's corner dropped the ball by not stopping it within the no contest time frame they did let Tim down.
Idk the specifics to comment with 100% accuracy but I tend to believe any team together as long as this team has knows what Tim wants them to do or not to do by now.
Tszyu had the three blind mice and the three stooges in his corner. But, the trainer is his uncle so he’s safe. But, the cutman who probably can’t stop a paper cut if you paid him, must get sacked mate Nevertheless, biggest imbecile is the Uncle who had to stop the fight before the end of the fourth round so Tim would not lose his belt, and get paid twice for the same opponent. Now Tszyu is left with his d*ck in his hand. If you didn’t know any better, you would swear that the Tszyu’s corner were all Polish.
Ok, but when the writer of this article cuts out "a little bit," he makes Moloney sound more critical than he is.
Some cut men are better at stopping certain injuries than others. Different people would have done different things, but we'll never know if anyone could have stopped that cut.
Tim lost his title, but he gained something in this loss.
Whoever watched saw a champion with incredible heart and character.
Fundora too found a way to win, which was never a guarantee, even with the cut.
Remember too, his nose was pouring out blood most of the fight.
