Biggest one in my lifetime was Mayweather-Castillo.

I’m surprised Castillo hasn’t been voted into the IBHOF based on that close loss alone and how famous it made him among Mayweather detractors.

      Depends on how they lose.

Otto Wallin became a contender based off a defeat to Fury.

Then he became a bum when he lost to Joshua.

Funnily enough the same happened with Ngannou.

And Wilder went from 2nd best in the division after Fury before being a bum after Parker.

There might be a theme to those though.

Ramirez became a world level after he won 1 round against Bivol. Now is he a cruiserweight champion and the most dangerous Mexican in the world.
