Golden Boy Promotions hasn't really been scouting for any prospects actually born in Mexico outside of a few exceptions like Gael Cabrera, and Aaron Silva, the latter got upset by a 19 year old.

Though Emiliano "Emy Popeye" Aguillon might actually might prove to be a talent at 160. Oscar didn't really take him into consideration.

Zurdo also has a huge following of 4 million at instagram, he might be a draw if he manages to get a belt at Cruiserweight. He might not be the most athletic fighter (he is well rounded with solid power) or likeable fighter, but he does pretty well for himself. He might be a better promoter than a fighter in the future.

Losing to Bivol doesn`t mean he is a bad fighter. Bivol beats everybody he faces, so I wouldn`t write Zurdo off already.

Apparently Bivol is Mexican boxing's daddy according to this guy, by that standard. And it's not like there's a savior in the wings. Anyone want to claim that Munguía is going to beat Canelo and then Bivol too?
