Why do people think Canelo would easily beat Benavidez when Alvarez himself isn't so sure?

The popular big name guys always gots the craziest &/or most confident fans.

I think this fight is Canelo's roughest night whatever the outcome is. Floyd outboxed him. Bivol outboxed him. Benavidez is gonna try to fook up his day.

Never said it would be easy, just a style matchup. Pressure fighter who is more shoe-shiner than puncher who goes 22 rounds with an FMW Jr C-level boxer puncher faces an A- one. Beavidez is closer to Gilberto Ramirez in skill than Bivol.

I know what people are going to say, that was younger Benavidez. So was younger Porter who went 22 rounds or whatever with Julio Diaz, was still literally the same Bull in a China Shop Crawford fought. Benavidez still stands squared up, with poor footwork and shoeshines ...

Canelo fans "Benavidez just isn't very good. Canelo doesn't need to fight him, it's an easy fight. Not worth the time. Couldn't KO Plant"

How does the resume matter when it comes down to fighting top opposition in the present? If he doesn't want to fight any of the mandatories by the sanctioning bodies and do exhibition fights with Ryder, 40 year old GGG, 154 pounder Charlo and Middleweight Munguia that's fine, but he shouldn't be holding the belts and making statements that he is the best fighter in the world, taking fights that fans have are clamoring for (he is not) and that he is fighting for Legacy. What he has done in the past, deserves praise. But he shouldn't be milking it to make excuses. Especially when his career at 168 has just been better than average himself.
