would boxing prove usefull incase of a streetfight?

i was arguing with a friend hat boxing would make you harder to deal with in a street fight than other bull**** fighting techniques..he argues that for the average guy it would be much more usefull to learn jujitsu!

    what do yall think

If you are actively in boxing and going to the gym on the regular and sparring you are for one going to be more comfortable in a combative setting and most normal guys punches will seem really slow to you.....this is what has happened with me in the past, when I was a teenager.

You're likely to break your hands in a street fight. It has happens so much.

Hell yea. Most ******s in streetfights ain't expectin any real defense. Nobody throws body punches in streetfights. Nobody really throws combos in streetfights either. And it takes more time to swing a weapon than to just throw a punch, so it's easier to hit first or set to counter. Boxing mos def helps. But that's assumin you fightin a ****** man enuf to fight 1 on 1 wit no jump ins. And of course it's all fair game when it gets to the ground.

                  Definitely.

Positioning yourself in a god boxing stance alone will intimidate your average street fighter. Bobbing, weaving, using footwork will have them thinking twice about fighting you.

^This is all before you even throw your first punch.

A good stiff jab to the mouth will show them you're not all just trying to look like a boxer but you actually are one.

When they start throwing wild, wide hayemakers or inaccurate straight punches, just a few stiff jabs will have them wanting to go home and think about getting off the street and going back to school.

                    depends on the situation...

If a guy wants to try and throw a punch at you...yes, boxing works! But so would BJJ, Judo, or anything like that...or all of them together.

But if there's more than 1 guy or weapons involved...theeeen I'd suggest not getting into trouble.
