I can`t really blame Canelo for not taking public demands about Benavidez seriously.

2022, when he was scheduled to fight Bivol, public demand was the big Charlo.

The Media has been asking for the Benavidez fight for years. What do they have to ask for Canelo for him to drop this fight and fight Benavidez instead? Nothing so it's pointless.

It's not pointless. Keep the pressure up on him. This is what eventually caves in some fighters and they end up making the fight happen because they're sick and tired of hearing it. Granted, a lot of times this happens years and years after people wanted it to actually happen. Though that is boxing for you.

That is the part where boxing dropped the ball and Dana White picked it up to put the best up against the best consistently and you didn't have to wait years for the matchups to be made. It without a doubt helped MMAs popularity rise.
