thought juanma was going to be one of the top fighters over the next 8 years he aint going to beat the best out there infact hes been way too much overhyped with hand picked fighters soon as he steps up against one of the elite hes going downComment

when u say that It seems to me ur comparing caballero's chin to Mtagwa's chin and comparing what kind of shots will caballero be able to land compared to Mtagwa , and again nobody can make that comparison , because Mtagwa hant faced caballero and because styles make fights so plz keep ur dumb comments to urselfComment

Really you thought he was superman , wow ur ****** , and u think he gassed out , or maybe it was accumulation of shots , i dont know just MAYBE. wow ur mexican right , superman?? gassed out?? REALLY???????What an awesome fight. I was at the edge of my feet for the last three rounds. I thought Juanma wasn't going to make it for a moment. He pulled a cotto and ran out of gas but that African dude must of borrowed Margharitos chin cause he was taking some flush shots. I got my $40 bucks worth from that fight alone.... Juanm got some work todo. We just found out that he's not superman...Comment

Why is everyone saying Juan Manuel Lopez is overrated? I don't get it.
Mtgawa is a guy who is the underdogg in every fight he goes into,One of those veterans who people would say "Why doesn't he get a shot?" and Juanma gives him a shot but has a tough tough fight yet thats not enough for people to say wow this kid is good or hey this kid showed he has power with skills and now he showed he has heart.People always complain about why these type of fighters don't get the big fights and it's because of this,Everyone overreacts and it's not that the fighters are not exciting or not good it's simply because people overreact and freak out because everyone wants to see an undefeated phenom who is smashing everyone in sight? pathetic.
Juanma won the fight on points comfortably but what a fight it was,he is a young kid going through the steps infront of our eyes and everyone is doubting him off of one fight? are you a hype fan or boxing fan? seriously.
If you all recall Barrera got KNOCKED THE **** OUT by what was then a nobody in Junior Jones,Wow boxing times change day by day.
Juanma needs to fix those ignorant "Machismo" mistakes he makes and he will be fineComment

I appreciate post like these. Some people here rate fighters based on one performance alone. Very very ignorant. Why is everyone saying Juan Manuel Lopez is overrated? I don't get it.

First of all juanma said that he wanted to be like tito and wilfredo lopez. Those guys would have never been in a war with a guy with 12 losses on his record. I can't wait for him to fight Caballero or Gamboa. If he passes the test with these guys then all praises due and he can consider himself along among the greatsComment

"Scores were 114-113, 115-111, and 116-111"
I thought Buffer just announced 116-116 @-)
Anyways, the scores were really wide. Agreed that Juanma clearly won the first half. But 116-111 is just bs.
Yes, FotY candidate. It's just so sad that the guy to give JuanMa the fight of his life is an unknown guy who had 12 loss (2KOs). JuanMa shouldn't be mentioned along with the elite P4P's really. Please.Well said. I didn't like Arum's participation either
At this momnet if i'm Juanma I shoold be thinking of resting for 2 months and come bach in April not January.
Especially that 12 round WOW.
Agreed on everything, but he did actually do something better than Cotto. We hold on to his opponent several times. Cotto either walks away or tries to brawl out of his dangerous moments. Theres nothing wrong with holding to recuperate and Cotto is yet to do that. I guess it not part of his warrior nature. What an awesome fight. I was at the edge of my feet for the last three rounds. I thought Juanma wasn't going to make it for a moment. He pulled a cotto and ran out of gas but that African dude must of borrowed Margharitos chin cause he was taking some flush shots. I have watched that round 3 times from my DVR and i'm still beleive his going to fall when i see it. Unbeleiveable!!!!
For those wondering about the 116-116 that Buffer said, you guys are right he did say that, but the broadcats commentators cleared out that the 116 for Mtagwa was a 111 that just looked like a 116 because of bad hand writting. There were no erases or bad addittions to the card. Just bad hand writting that confused Mr. Buffer.Comment

First it was Linares and now Juanma. Unfortunately for Linares he did lose his bout and shockingly, but it by no means, means that it's the end of his career. There both young and have plenty of time to work on things. Juanma showed a lot in this fight and shows just how mentally strong he is. Linares, well you can't say much because he got Khaned. Too quickly did he lose to find out anything much about his loss. It's not like he was outclassed over 12 rounds or 8 and then got KOed. He got KOed by a quick punch that anyone could of been KOed by without much technical work on display by either by the time it landed. Juanma fights a veteran who had balls. No big deal. I expect better things from both of them in the future.Comment

Mtagwa Deserves Another Shot
Mtagwa should get another shot at Juanma on HBO. How can Arum criticize fights HBO buys or doesn't buy, then get into the ring Saturday night and announce there will be no rematch. The people booed him! What about all the times Mtagwa knocked Lopez into the ropes and that pathetic ref did not count them as knockdowns? If it had been Mtagwa staggering in the 12th, do you think the ref would have let it go on? If HBO had any balls, they would insist that if Arum wants Lopez on their network, he has to fight Mtagwa first. But that ain't going to happen and we all know it. Mtagwa is a much better fighter than his won-loss record and he exposed Lopez as something far short of a superstar. And even in Arum wanted to make the rematch, no way does Lopez agree. No Way!What an awesome fight.
