I didn't understand everyone calling fury vs Usyk 1 a 50/50 fight, and was even more astonished when a lot of people said the second fight was as well.

Fury's recent form was absoloutley wretched but even ignoring that there was one reason NOBODY should have been picking Fury and that reason is simple.

FURY DIDNT WANT TO FIGHT USYK.

I mean does that not tell you all you need to know to be able to pick a winner in a professional boxing fight?

Fury was so angry at AJ for losing to Usyk because it meant there was no other option for him but to fight Usyk, although even then him and warren played the absolute last cards in their hand first by sending Dubois in and hoping he got lucky and secondly with the injury hoping Usyk would get fed up and pull out.

Fury was all but dragged to the ring kicking and screaming and people still thought it was 50/50 and the only reason anyone could give me for it was "fury is big"

That's also the reason I am critical of Usyks performances in those fights because he was in with a guy who didn't want to be there and he still managed to have a competitive fight with him, he should have wiped the floor with fury.

So many idiots in the boxing fanbase.

neither Wilder or Fury have ever suffered the indignation of laying at the feet of Andy Ruiz, or ANYTHING like that, so....

Wilder ducked Ruiz lol and as I mentioned Fraudy never went near a fighter like Andy.
I'm not saying Ruiz is a giant Canelo or anything but he’d beat anyone Fury beat outside of the old Wlad

In my opinion, it was obvious that Usyk was the favorite in this fight. I wouldn't say Fury is a bad fighter, but there's a reason Usyk is called the Undisputed Champion. I bet on Usyk in the first fight and in the second one as well and I wasn’t wrong. For me sports betting increases interest in a sporting event. I don't know what betting favourite means, I don't bet. All I know is who I favour to win. They can't even get tysons height right, so don't rely on anyone to tell you who's favourite or not? Tyson 6foot 7.5.
Usyk probably wins, so I guess that means usyk s betting favourite

Favorite really just means more people are betting for that person to win than are not. I'll explain a bit more, but that's all you need to know to understand betting odds casually.


Sometimes hedging will get it, sometimes just the odds being so one sided drives people to make ****** bets enough to change the odds. My point is you can end up with odds that make it seem like most people think X is going to win but can't find anyone who says X is going to win because most people don't think X will win they just think he's enough chance to make them money.

Bookies are not meant to be experts or anything like that, they're just reflecting mass belief to you. If 20 guys lay down 1 dollar bets against Usyk the bookie will give you 20-1 odds for Usyk... I mean idealistically. Because you're not betting against the bookie, it isn't the bookie's opinion, you're betting against the 20 jabronis who came before you and their opinion.

And Wilder literally doesn’t have a single decent win on his resume. I suppose a bit of credit is due for taking out Ortiz but ask yourself what his record would be like if he faced more Parker level fighters like Povetkin, Ruiz and co? Fury’s entire reputation is based off of him running around the ring against Wlad and beating a hyped Wilder.
I’ll grudgingly give him props for the Whyte win but DW didn’t show up at all and there’s more evidence that Fury has been lucky against sub par opposition (think the McDermott and Ngannou decisions and going life and death with Wallin, getting dropped by Pajkic and Cunningham etc) and somehow we’re supposed to believe he is hard to hit / defensively genius and lightning speed. Lol, he bobbed and weaved that time on the ropes against Tom Schwartz (or was it Sefer Seferi?) and now he’s mentioned as some kinda great.
im not buying it. Until he beats Usyk, AJ and a couple of good contenders (Sanchez, Dubois et al) he is a bog average drug cheating ducker with a big mouth and little resume.

Yeah but…the thing is, Wilder is ****e and Fury beating him made everyone think Fury was good. He’s not. He is hugely overrated.

I don't think Fury is 6 foot 9 but he's definatley taller than AJ, Wilder and both klitschkos if only by a shade.

My best guess is 6'7.5"

Its hard to get accuracy from photos as footwear and posture make a big difference but in the ring he was clearly taller than AJ was against Ngannou and Whyte for instance.

Right. Shoes, posture, photo angle, how far the feet apart, even filling one's lungs account for those optical illusions.

The medical office license measurements are a better sourse of information. The fighters do not get to tell them how tall they are.
