I don't think it's publicity stunt for Benn. Pacquiao was on camera in Saudia Arabia to talk about it last Friday. I believe they did a face off and everything. If it was a stunt for Pacquiao, what would he have gotten out of it if he's not fighting anymore? I highly doubt Hearn would have thrown more money at Pacquiao to use him as a marketing tool for Benn and not actually go through with a fight.

It is a LITERAL fact. He had a hearing with UKAD/BBBoC and he won it, and they lost it. That is a literal, straight up, out and out, FACT.

After he won the hearing, his suspension was lifted and he was clear to fight.

To which at that point, UKAD/BBBoC are allowed 14 days to appeal the decision (That they lost), which they chose to appeal.

To which at that point, Benn applied for his license, as he's not suspended (and still isn't), and they rejected it on the grounds that there is an on going appeal (which realistically is no more than a technicality on their part). And that is the sole and only reason he doesn't have a license currently, because of the appeal. That doesn't change the fact, yes, fact, that he he has had his hearing with UKAD/BBBoC and he won it and thus his suspension was lifted.

So now the next step is the appeal hearing, which has happened, and they're awaiting the results for that. Should UKAD/BBBoC lose (again), they don't really have any grounds not to license him and he won't receive a back dated ban because he had the hearing and won the hearing.

I don't know why everyone is finding this difficult to understand. It's very simple, basic procedure stuff.

The appeal process is longer than any ban, find him gulity or innocent but spinning out the appeal is just childish and puts the board in a bad light particularly after than c4 racism expose.

            That's true.

They had the hearing and they lost it (UKAD/BBBoC), this isn't the first time they've lost a hearing like this and I've never known them to appeal it before. They know full well the chances of them winning that appeal is minimal. It's just childish at this point if I'm being honest.

I'm no fan of Conor Benn, very far from it. But he did everything that was asked of him, he had his hearing, he won his hearing. For UKAD/BBBoC to appeal that knowing all it will do is drag it out longer for no reason is just silly and they know exactly what they're doing.

From what I can gather, the appeal decision is imminent. So, we'll see what goes on with that and what happens after.

Looks like they won the appeal...

                  Yep. Crazy chain of events.

The decision he won's been overturned now, so, the powers in their hands.

Can't see anything but a ban, question is how long.

What i wrote the first time around, probably a 2 year backdated ban. Ban would be for UK, he has not fought in the UK in 2 years anyway

Yeah after winning the appeal, you were right. I didn't think they had a chance of winning that appeal.

Probably will be two, could see it being four though if they really want to put the knife in.
