Despite what you’d prefer, Ali would be happy to be in the hall of fame. He was involved in multiple wrestling events and seemed to enjoy it.

Not at all. The Vince stuff has already been swept under the carpet tbh. WWE is still red hot with the Bloodline angle and the Rock coming back. WM 40 is poised to break several records.

Ali’s induction has nothing to do with Vince. Ali was at the first Mania, did the exhibition with Inoki, had the feud with Monsoon. It makes perfect sense to induct Ali. Fully deserved.

If Ali was alive and well I’m sure he’d gladly accept the award, he always had an affinity with wrestling. His legendary trash talk was inspired by Gorgeous George for example.

No, it has not been swept under the carpet. Just today Nick Khan, Stephanie McMahon, and Brad Blum were all named as the previously unnamed executives from the lawsuit who enabled Vince's behavior. There are several civil lawsuits in progress and the federal government has subpoenaed several victims for a criminal investigation including:
-Janel Grant (the accuser that blew all this up with the sex trafficking claim)
-Rita Chatterton (the former ref that accused Vince of **** on television in 1992 and finally got a settlement in 2022)
-The woman who is suing him for sexual assault in a tanning salon in 2011
-An unnamed former wrestler that says she was fired after Vince tried to force her into oral sex
-An unnamed staffer who says Vince repeatedly verbally harassed her and sent her unwanted nude photos
-An unnamed staffer who says she was demoted from her job after she broke off her sexual relationship with Johnny Ace

There is no damn reason to do it right now other than because of the Vince situation. Ali has been dead for years and his involvement with the company ended decades before that.

It’s old news, nobody is talking about it in the wrestling world, John Cena being naked at the Oscars is bigger news. WWE has remained increasingly popular since the Vince allegations became public, they don’t even need to distract people.

Ali being inducted is purely to honour Ali and his contribution to wrestling, it has nothing to do with distracting people from Vince’s unsavoury antics.

The wrestling world is a tiny bubble of ass backwards people with no moral character, of course they don't care. These same people cheer Ric Flair, they cheered Stone Cold after his wife beating scandal, they cheered Jimmy Snuka after he beat his mistress to death with his bare hands. The world at large cares and they'll care even more when the criminal case comes through.

TKO flat out said they considered Vince a PR liability for his misconduct when he came into the company. This was a prepared response to an issue they anticipated being a problem all along.

Again, if they gave a rat's **** about honoring Ali he would have done it decades ago. The timing is everything.

Exactly! I used to be a huge wrestling fan.

McMahon has long been a p.o.s.

Boxing is no different. We glorify Mike Tyson, Monzon etc by putting them in the IBHOF. In sport entertainment you essentially judge people on their talent/ability above everything else.

Regardless of morality, putting Ali in the HOF has nothing to do with the Vince scandal. A distraction isn’t even needed and even if it was, do you think this is bigger news than the Rock returning?

Ali getting put in the WWE HOF will essentially be an afterthought. It won’t even headline the HOF class, it’ll be Paul Heyman. You’re way off the mark with your distraction assumption.
