  • So many of you morons thought that Francis not only had a chance, but that he was going to win.

    Dumb as ****.

The reason Ngannou got hyped up is mostly because of how abnormal the whole situation was with him coming into boxing at that level right off the bat. It should never have been allowed to happen and hopefully this kind of ****** **** is never allowed to happen again.
In this post you predicted AJ would get knocked out cold inside 5.

I was playing around saying something hyperbolic to make the thread more exciting instead of going with some boring safe take.

Ive said elsewhere multiple times that I was running with the Ngannou thing mainly for a laugh and because I was hoping it would happen, and ive also said the most likely outcome was AJ wins, although admittedly I expected him to box safe and get a decision, not do a complete demolition job.

        • One thing you absolutely have to respect enjoy AJ is his commitment. He is deeply committed to learning. To becoming the best version of himself. We don't really know how good he can be. His achievements outran his experience early in his career. He is probably approaching his peak around now
he needs to fight 3-4 times a year.

          • I have always believed AJ would crush Wilder
            I rest my case

            • I know Ngannou is only a two pro fights novice in boxing, but man, that was a devastating ko by Joshua.

Of course, in boxing, it doesn't mean because you beat the one guy better than the other guy did, that you'd win.

I do think AJ looks sharper under his new trainer Ben. Fury would have a tough time against him. AJ maybe beats Usyk in a third fight, perhaps.

I think he would beat both Wilder and Fury today but I dont know if thats always been the case. Unfortunately these fights are way way beyond the point where it would have been most meaningful for them to happen.

I totally agree with you. AJ is an epitome of a dedicated professional who is eager to be the very best he could possibly be hence he has been in search for someone who can teach him how to exploit his natural skills to the fullest. Ben Davidson seems to be that person. The new AJ is relaxed, patient and deadly in the ring.
