Canelo will fight Benavidez next.
Benavidez will be forced to come back down to 168. He will have a rehydration clause and a fight night weight check.

I'm fine with Canelo fighting whoever he wants to fight, including Berlanga. I get the various reasons he took the fights he's had and fights he might take going forward. But, he should give up the belts. He doesn't deserve to have them anymore. And if he doesn't relinquish them, the alphabet orgs should strip him. Immediately.Tag, You're Hit likes this.

You wrote a whole chapter for one question which means, you don't know the answer or you want to excuse the reply with some explanation, in any case is a deflection and not a straight answer.
ps. You lost me when you didn't mention ggg first fight (and he was already past his prime, just like kovalev) and when you knowingly left kovalev condition, age and back to back camps with a 12 round grueling fight against yards, and the drained domestic level smith, he didn't opened up against an old Beterbiev, he got smashed to pieces. You see if you're going to write a lot be real. His five fights with the four elite fighters could and should have been a least four loses and one draw. You take SRL with half his fight and have a heck of a record against ATG.

Lara was at his mid peak yet it was canelo who made the better adjustments and picked up his defense and range whereas Lara only become more tentative. GGG was old? He was the betting favorite with only 30 something fights and few of them against tough opposition. Drained Smith? He was a career 168lber with the massive size advantage and the number one ranked fighter in the division yet wouldn't even risk letting his hands go because of Canelo's skillset+power. If either Beterbiev or Bivol had a win over that exact version of Kovalev who remained a capable and dangerous champ coming off beating 2 undefeated top 10s, it would be a career top 2 opponent for them as career light heavyweights, but somehow the smaller gets no credit taking him out?lol Funny thing is there were people trying to give Beterbiev more praise for taking out Yarde coming off of being flattened by Kovalev than the smaller man Canelo for taking out the champ. Haters are always reaching.Last edited by garfios; 03-15-2024, 01:19 PM.
