You don't need to hurt your opponent to win a boxing match.

You just need to win more rounds, usually by landing more punches than the other guy, in more rounds than they did you.

Parker outlanded Zhang in most of the rounds thus won the fight. Without the knockdowns it would have been a domination, instead of just a clear win with them.

Sooner you get over it the better.
