Why is Ennis vs Crowley heading to purse bid?

Crowley wanted Barrios. Both are PBC fighters. Fight was meant to be made, but obviously PBC ran into complications still trying to sort things out with Amazon. Makes no sense for Haymon to give away one of his guys as mere showcase fights for Ennis, who is not a PBC fighter. This IBF order is not what PBC wanted. I don't see the point of them spending money which entails both fighters demanding money they can't afford to offer.

Talking don't always work & how much talking does one need to do. And Boots ain't a good talker either. Dude needs a social media guy like Keef needs to wear a hat with his goofy ass hair. But the main issue is there is no reason for Bud to fight any risky non-ticket seller for his last fight or two.

Sounds like they decided to pay Cody more than $300k. And/Or were worried about who might attend this purse bid that could lead to PBC losing the fight altogether.

But it doesn't have to do great numbers. No one ever said Ennis/Crowley had to be the headliner of an event. Ennis just needs to be active. If money is the problem, then let it go to purse bid. But the powers that be won't even allow that to happen. It's absolute bullshxt.

I suspect Cody still doesn't want the fight.

But maybe there is more money in a purse bid but since neither is a name really idk about that. Might just be gambling on a bigger offer & Cody will walk when that lower number comes in.

Cody Crowley does NOT want to fight Boots. This has been going on for months even before Boots became champ. Cody has NEVER called for that fight - he wanted anyone BUT Boots.

I agree. But it's looking like Ennis team is trying to hit many birds in one stone. They want someone ranked, but beatable; want to get paid decently (cash out/in), want it on separate card, want it on a mainstream platform, etc.
