Rostock, Germany - Universumīs Long Night of boxing began at 7 PM and was over at about 1.45 am when referee Juergen Langos finally called off the bout between Dennis Boytsov and Jason Gavern. He outclassed the American, taking the overall sixth count,- four knockdowns and two standing eight counts, - and ending it at 2.18 of the seventh in a scheduled ten-rounder. Gavern was at the time of the stoppage behind on scores of 60-50, 60-51 and 60-51 but had made himself popular with the crowd with his showboating and guts. Gavern was a nice trislhorse for boytsov.I've seen fight live & he is pretty funny.gavern is a solid pro American sparring partner.gavern showboated in Edmonton vs salif.I actually was heckling abit(I was a few rows from his corner).he took it well & poked fun at me back.it was all in good humor.he's a class act & funny.nice win for boytsov.charr with a decision over veteran Sherman Williams is decent too.time for both to step up the level of opposition.Comment

He needs to test himself against top ten comp. Juan Carlos Gomez would be a step up from what he's been fighting.

I just watched the fight (I posted it in the Videos section).
Jason Gavern is crazy. The fight reminded me of Lewis-McCall II.
It was hilarious when Boytsov started clowning back a little bit. Erdei and another Universum fighter were watching from ringside and they were having a good laugh.Comment
