Benavidez Going To 175 To Duck Morrell. Insane.

Is this a joke? Andrade was an unbeaten world champion. Andrade has wins over fighters with a name and a pulse. Any of Andrade's last 10 opponents would wipe the floor with Morrell's competition. Implying that Benavidez ducked Morrell to fight Andrade.... I honestly have no words. That would be like saying that Usyk ducked Frank Sanchez to fight Tyson Fury.If he's not near benavidez, ask him why he choose andrade over Morrell Jr? After agreeing to fight him. We all know that the best fights to make at 168 is benavidez vs canelo or Morell jr vs benavidez, they're both mandatories and regular belt holder, per the alphabet soups organizations rules they should have fought canelo already. The ginger doesn't want to risk a beating and benavidez is moving up to fight another old man. The tougher fight is Morell jr. You didn't find anyone with the same resume in only 10 fights, did you?
... how is Morrell the tougher fight? That's literally only in your eyes. Morrell is a 25 year old kid with 10 fights who has never fought anyone in the ~top40. Gvozdyk is a 36 year old former world champ (in the higher division) whose only loss is to a P4Per.
Bro.. Morrell's resume is dog****, which is OK - all he is a is a prospect. I don't see what you see. I took the time to open boxrec of every single one of his opponents. Do you want to guess how many 12 round fights his opponents had before they faced Morrell? Three. His best opponent is currently # 144 per boxrec (yes, I do know that boxrec's rankings are not TBRB, I'm using this to highlight approximate class of the opponents). You want similar fighters? Osleys Iglesias - 26 year old prospect who's 9-0... except he has actually beat Chilemba.
You've been a member of NSB for almost 20 years, so I assume you have seen hundreds of prospects just like Morrell - 9-0, 10-0, 15-0, 20-0, prospects in their 20s. That is all Morrell is. Accusing an established star of ducking him when Benavidez has fought and is fighting significantly higher class of fighter is just silly.Comment

Stop it, none of benavidez and andrade opponents can't wipe the floor with Morell jr. You're the one who is joking. Please, let's wait and see how this whole thing develops, it is a mess, and we have ginger to thank. You haven't found out another prospect with similar resume, did you? Combined record of 188-21, did you find a similar one? Or I know, you go by ranking, the one the corrupt organizations don't pay attention. Find another 10 boxer with a similar record. Look below, that was 2020. He fought the #1 and 2, and ryder, the same one canelo fought, ran from the Cuban after agreeing and had a fight scheduled for the ginger's mandatory.

I get what you're saying, but Andrade's resume was pretty suspect too. Until the Benavidez fight, he'd fought zero world champions himself. His best win was arguably a controversial split over Jack Culcay, and at a division that's completely barren, absent the kitten Jermall Charlo, who he ducked, and GGG, who he didn't fight. Andrade turned down and backed out of every big fight until Benavidez, and we all saw why when that fight happened. Maybe he'll sign on the dotted line to fight Morrell himself. I really doubt it though. I always thought Andrade was hugely overrated. He was a titlist at best, never a real champion.

... .
And Benavidez' own dad and trainer both claimed they'd signed a contract to fight Morrell before the Andrade fight. That's on the record. Then all of a sudden they went silent and let Benavidez himself claim he'd never signed that, when they're usually the ones talking. Regardless of how you feel, it creates a certain image.
And that's coming from someone who thinks that Gvodzyk is absolutely a better fight for him, as well as someone who thinks Morrell is one of the best at 168.

Please re-read. I said Andrade's opponents would wipe the floor with Morrell's competition, not him.

I did find a prospect, it's in the post you're quoting. 9 fights, equally highly ranked. The big difference between him and Morrell is that I recognize Isaac Chilemba as a legitimate opponent.
Nope, I do not go by "corrupt organization ranking". I stated that several times. I use TBRB and then boxrec for a ballpark. Morrell's opponents are currently #140 or 150 or something. None of the guys he fought were around Top10 per TBRB
That ranking you're quoting.. where is that from? I have no idea. Is that from one of the "corrupt organizations"? Because that ranking is a joke. Where's Benavidez? Plant? Andrade? Saunders? Danny Jacobs?
Anyway, we're going in circles. Morrell is a prospect. He'll need to do what every other prospects before him did - get some decent fights before people can start whining that he's being avoided. Guys fight 2-4 times a year. You can't be complaining that someone you like is being ducked because he doesn't get a fight. Gvozdyk and Andrade are leagues above Morrell's current level. There is no fighter alive who would fight Morrell instead of those two guys, and it's not because Morrell is being avoided. It's because that fight makes no money, and when Morrell gets KOd in the 5th, he'll slide into obscurity with countless others.

You know, that's a fair take. Can't argue with anything. The contract talks I rarely pay attention to, so wasn't aware.. and don't really care either. Everyone lies.

Time will tell how good Morrell is, I wish him the best because the division can use some new blood.Comment

Kind of ironic right?
Boxer A complains of not getting a chance, has people ducking, but then finally earns a name for himself
Then immediately does the same to Boxer B who is in the same seat as Boxer A before Boxer A finally got the hot hand
Sucks for guys like Jaron Ennis and David Morrel

chilemba is better than Aidos? A past prime 37 year old is better than a 30 years old undefeated contender. The ranking I quoted is from the corrupt organization they're fighting for. At the time they fought, they were not 140/150. You know what, one thing is to think Morell jr doesn't have a chance against benavidez, and another is that he doesn't deserve a shot. First, he's the longest-standing #1 contender for the SMW, 2nd, benavidez told the world that he would fight the Cuban if ginger didn't fight him, he was given two options and like ginger took the easiest fight, andrade, so there you have it, benavidez is running like canelo, I don't care what you go by and to tell you the truth your assessment seems a little bias, chimbela is a journeyman that is all, I have Aidos higher than him not because the rankings, but because I saw them fight both. andrade is a bum that has never faced an elite fighter noer a champion, and he was fighting for the WBC, benavidez was the WBC champ back then, and you can see a couple of favorites there, ryder and zach , I wonder what you didn't mention them. Stop with this man, I want to see the best fight the best, benavidez vs canelo or benavidez vs Morell jr. Any other fight that doesn't involve those three is nonsense, unless it involves mbilli, munguia, or Iglesias. You can also throw Scull in and have a doubleheader. Now if you want to see a soap opera, keep playing matchmaker and put Gvozdyk vs benavidez instead of Morell jr, who by the way is not a prospect since his third fight, he won that regular belt and has defended it six time or seven, I don't know why mbilli hasn't jump at the opportunity, he has been his mandatory for a couple of years now, oh well this a mess and until ginger decides to drop the belts, he has done it before, or fight a worthy opponent, now that will be harder for him, the mess will continue.
