About time. All them belts and fighting only once a year is a disservice to all the mandatories waiting for years to get their shot. His brother's situation is far more egregious than this tho. These sanctioning bodies need to tighten up on this. But as long as money is the motive, the rules are gonna be bent and broken for the right folks.

Charlo could very easily have ended the "hype" but he's instead returned to semi-retirement rather than defend his title. Instead of seeing the American's inactivity as the problem you're choosing to denigrate the Australian.

They have no incentive to currently. Unless they could be legally compelled to change they won't.

It's way overdue we look for a different way to administer the sport. The TBRB is a start.

While I somewhat agree, your sentiment means that Tszyu is screwed either way. Boxers can only fight who's willing and available. If Jermell comes back to 154 and Tszyu beats him, we'll say he wasn't in top form because of moving to 168 + inactivity. If he beats Crawford, we'll attribute it to weight (4th) and inactivity. Tim beat Mendoza, who beat Fundora, who beat Lubin, who (technically) beat Jesus Ramos. He's doing well so far. I'd like for Tszyu to try and consolidate the titles, starting with the Kurbanov/Madrimov winner, and then eventually face guys like Ortiz and Zayas.

On a side note, where the hell is Castano?

who would have thought that 'Mell loses his titles before 'Mall? Obviously beneficial to have (worse) mental health issues.

I agree. It's just that theres nothing anybody can do about it. If fighters don't like the way they handle business, they'll punish them someway or bounce them down or out of the organization's rankings somehow. Boxing is the most obvious when it come to corruption, but no way to truly prove it. Taking them to court to enforce their rules usually ends with a bunch of money wasted and an L. Sucks, but it is what it is.

This is sad. Unfortunately, we boxing fans don’t know half the shit these fighters have to go through.

Obviously he is a broken fighter just like his older brother was for many months. I just hope he keeps it together and return to the ring as soon as possible.

I’ve never seen so many fighters have mental breakdowns as much as they have today. Which I believe is caused by the loss of brain tissue.

Mental illness in boxing is real.

They finally stripped Jermell, but they have yet to order Canelo to fight Morrell Jr.??? Then they ranked Berlanga as WBA #1 Contender! REALLY???

they will never touch Saul --> no boxing rules apply to him or what he does. charcoal is dispensable he draws nothing does nothing for the promo boys right now so they are done with him by the time the truth catches up to Saul he will be done with boxing and counting his money never to be heard from again and it can not happen too soon either........

While I understand Charlo’s decision to face Canelo for financial reasons, it was a bad long term decision and was bad for boxing. If canelo wasn’t a punk and had been willing to face Benavidez, then charlo would’ve been in position to have a more meaningful and sensible fight against Crawford as undisputed champion. Then boxing fans would’ve had 2 fights that they wanted to see instead of a canelo vs charlo that nobody really wanted to see at that stage. Charlo may have lost badly either way, but at least he would’ve been in a weight class where he was comfortable instead of having to jump 2 full weight classes. Charlo was willing to take too big a risk while canelo wasn’t willing to risk much, and it ruined charlo career wise and screwed boxing fans.
