You mention some of the big name fighters on his resume, but he also beat Lamont Peterson, Lucas Matthysse, Kendall Holt, Mauricio Herrera and many other name fighters, but that's precisely how a fighter builds their resume and drawing power. Fighters who don't cherry pick faded former champions and instead fight the fresher contenders of the day end up dealing with the criticism that fighters like GGG deal with. I was a fan of DSG, but when he was coming up I did criticize him early on for seeming to target faded name fighters (e.g. Nate Campbell, Morales). Because of this I wondered if he really was as good as advertised. IMO, over the course of his career, he very much proved himself to be an elite champion because of his many great performances, both in victory and defeat.

The fact that fans can be so dismissive of a fighter of Danny Garcia's caliber and resume makes it clear to me that there is just no winning with the current generation. I spent multiple days arguing with some other guy recently about the quality and status of GGG. This guy insisted and really seems to believe in his heart that GGG was a fraud and fabrication of the media, when, in fact, he is a Top 5 MW of all time and a sure-fire 1st ballot HOF entrant in a few years. According to GGG's critics, he can't be considered great because his resume is too thin with other 'great' fighters and he couldn't (officially) beat the one HOF fighter that he did fight. The reality is that most fights fans regularly confuse 'great' with 'popular.' GGG has a record 20 defenses against all top ranked contenders (Top 10 or better) so they were the best challengers in his era. Danny Garcia's resume looks completely different from GGG's because it’s littered with name fighters (some past their peak prime). Were these fighters measurably better than GGG's top ranked contenders? Who knows, but it doesn't matter because he there will always be fans out there, inclined to look for faults and wrinkles, who will find some way to discredit the achievements of the best fighters in every division of the sport.
very well put. Too many keyboard warriors with too little appreciation for fighters that put it all on the line for our entertainment. Zero respect. Almost invariably from the US.

Are they real though or just fake profiles used by the sites to generate comments with outlandish, provocative statements?

I like this fight. Mainly because I want to see Garcia knock out Benn and shut his mouth up

Yeah and next time Benn tests positive he can blame contact with the foul, toxic air inside a casket containing a decomposed corpse.

The information which people need to know, regarding this fight is? Whether it will actually be fought the 154 pound limit 'With no rehydration clauses or whatever else to devalue the fight'.

Danny Garcia at no point in his career, has never been a fighter who 'Most other fighters can just run up on, and expect a easy fight'.

Garcia has solid power, I still question Benn's power? I have never rated him as a power puncher 'And I don't actually think his brute strength is anything special'.

I.E Chris Eubank Junior's punching power is nothing spectacular, but he has always negated this by having great brute strength 'Carl Froch commented and gave credit to Eubank Junior's brute strength after working with him in preparation to fight Groves II in their rematch at Wembley Stadium'.

Note: I am not sure what Garcia has been doing of late, but if he has been training and ticking over 'Then this is a serious challenge for Benn' etc.

Good points but I just want to state that Herrera outboxed a lethargic and confused Garcia that night in Puerto Rico; The judges gave him the victory on paper but most observers (including myself) felt Garcia should have caught an L on his record that night.

Swift fought a lot of quality opponents. For me, his fight against Matthysse was probably the most impressive victory on his resume. At the time Lucas was an absolute monster on top of his game, I was a big fan of La Machina and it was heartbreaking to watch him completely outclass a personal favorite of mine.

I hope Benn faces Danny and I hope this older, heavier, shopworn version of Swift catches and stops Conor.

Agree on both points. Matthysse was his best win and Herrera could’ve/should’ve gotten the nod.
