Man never thought Garcia would become a gatekeeper he was the s*** back in the day he had a superb run at 140 just couldn’t win the big ones at 147 doubt he takes this fight though hopefully he can do something at 154.Comment

I think getting Conor Benn to a world title fight is gonna be a tough gig.
Not ripping him but even choosing to forget the controversies he's never looked like a world level fighter.
Danny Garcia hasn't fought for ages so unless Benn gets knocked out he's gonna be able to outwork him.
Benn's acid test is Avenesyan. If he did a job on him then people would reevaluate his ability.Comment

The best fighters of his day...such as Paulie Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, an old Zab Judah, an Ancient Erik Morales, and Amir Khan? Lost to the 2 real top opponents he ever faced, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter. Good career, far from great.Last edited by chicken-; 03-01-2024, 10:16 AM.Comment

Danny's inactivity is what would make this match compelling. An active Danny beats Benn all day. If this fight comes off, I still think Danny will win - turning Conor into eggs Benn-edict. But, it's a good chance for Benn to get known - especially if he can pull off the win. Gotta VADA 24-7, though.

If the fight is at 154 pounds, with no rehydration clauses 'Or any other stipulations, which are put in place to devalue the fight'.
Then this is a legitimate challenge for Benn 'Garcia has been a by far superior fighter to Benn on many metrics during his career'.
Punching power, boxing skill, durability 'Big time fight experience, the list goes on'.
I honestly don't think Garcia is turning up just to take part ether 'Garcia will from what I have seen of him, during his career? Train with the intention to win 100%'.
Note: The fight for sure has to be at 154 pounds 'With no unnecessary rehydration clauses, or stipulations of a similar nature' etc.
