Then the idea was of putting Manny with Cotto was floated and Manny and team said, we're not true 147lber yet. They took the Oscar fight because of the money obviously, but still unsure of Manny facing true sized WW. Cotto did not have to agree to it. Clearly he wanted it just as bad. I didn't see anything wrong with how Cotto looked until he got dropped. In fact he looked hella strong in there.

Margarito fight, the dude came in almost 170lbs on fight night, lol. I think Manny was recorded weighing 152lbs on fight night? He looked super strong in that fight until he got beat the F up.

These are guys that in theory, should have beat up the smaller man. After the Margarito fight, Manny went in full 147lbs for every other opponent. I think it was a reasonable request early on in a division he wasn't truly fit for. In fact, I don't think he ever was, that's why he stopped knocking dudes out. He made up for the lack of his size with his speed and skills. His power was decent, but nothing like 140lbs and below.
Don’t make excuses. Every fight has context. What you’re doing, as you always do, is admonish every boxer other than Manny for utilizing a CW.

Of course you didn’t see anything wrong with Cotto.

Margs was 151 at the weigh in. As drained as any Floyd opponent you claim was drained.

No they shouldn’t have beaten a smaller man. The smaller man was given the advantages.

Both got hosed by their own promoter in favor of a guy Bob realized would sell more. Same as he did to Hagler with SRL and countless other in house fights.

You think its ok primarily because you like Manny. If Manny had been forced to defend his title with a CW like Cotto did, you’d be screaming about how unfair it was.

If Manny was forced to come in at say 136 for the Hatton fight, like Margs, you’d be outraged.

Welching? You must not know what that word means.

Welching: to fail or refuse to do (something that one said one would do)

Floyd pulling Marquez up two divisions and welching on the agreed upon catchweight is the truth.

Manny Pac didn't pull Cotto or Margarito up two divisions to fight in their next fight.

They agreed to 146. Get over it.

No they agreed to 144 they didn't re-negotiate jack you lying mofo. Floyd welched on the catchweight and paid the penalty in doing so. Floyd agreed to 146 by himself.

What was Mayweather Marquez catch weight?
During the official weigh in for their 144 lb bout, Marquez weighed in at 142 lbs and Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs thereby incurring a financial penalty ($300,000 for each pound over 144 lbs) as he was 2 pounds over the catchweight.

Bad enough Marquez was a lightweight. Official weigh in he stepped on the scales at 142 lbs.

The man who says Floyd is a blatant handicapper is spot on.

Ok. The contract was redone. They agreed to 146. Get over it.

Lol. No contract was redone you lying mofo. The weight was 144. Floyd missed weight, gladly paid the penalty (600,000) and fought lightweight Marquez the next night.

Pull up a copy of this redone contract.

                My last response to you.

The bout was rescheduled for September 19, 2009.[7] During the official weigh in for their 144 lb bout, Marquez weighed in at 142 lbs and Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs thereby incurring a financial penalty ($300,000 for each pound over 144 lbs[5]) as he was 2 pounds over the catchweight.[8] It was later revealed that the contract was changed a few days prior to the weigh in so that Mayweather would be allowed to weigh up to the welterweight limit of 147 lbs while avoiding paying an additional fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, in addition to the fine he agreed to pay to Marquez.[5

Mayweather's contract with 147 pounds was not filed with the commission until minutes before the weigh-in. Kizer said it was supposed to be filed on Wednesday.

Kizer said the Mayweather camp asked to file it Thursday and he said OK, but that deadline also came and went.

"We were very unhappy with the lateness of Mr. Mayweather's contract," Kizer said.

Kizer said that had the bout agreements not been changed to 147, Mayweather would have faced a fine from the commission in addition to whatever penalty he had agreed to pay Marquez. For being two pounds overweight, Kizer said the penalty would have been 10 percent of his purse, or $1 million. Had he been three pounds over (147 pounds), the figure would have jumped to a 20 percent fine.

So why would Mayweather pay 600,000 if the weight was renegotiated.

                  Insert more Floyd excuses here:

Well to be fair, I only admonish Mayweather for the advantages. Though isn't he the primary comparison in all of these arguments? lol.

I didn't claim Floyd's opponent was drained. I claimed Hatton was not at his premier fighting weight class when he fought Floyd. He was at his best at 140lbs. He went up and got rocked by Collazo, prompting him to go back down. Floyd brought him back up. Floyd also brought Marquez up who never fought above 140lbs at that time. The CW was 145lbs and Floyd didn't even bother making the weight. Took the man out of his own effective weight class at that time, to beat him up, look good against a guy that gave Manny fits all while claiming he's back from retirement and looking as great as ever.

We can run it both ways.

So in other words, Mayweather welched Marquez on the scales, paid the 600,000 penalty then in a last ditch effort, was late and failed submitting the amended contract.
