A name doesn't make the fighter, though its nice to have other greats as opponents to stamp the history books, but overall you have look at the entire career and watch them fight to decide for yourself , great is a subjective term, Ive seen a lot of fighters in 60 years in my book Canelo is a great fighter as is GGG, I don't really care to much about fan stuff, just on pure boxing I think they make it into the great category no problems at all.

I think they're good to be in the hof, not on the level of Hearns, SRL, SRR, Hagler, Duran, Napoles etc. I believe what makes a fighter is the boxers he chooses to fight, if they're in their prime and have a name, the better. There's a boxer that I can't recall right now, from the 80's-90's with over 100 wins, there's not a name in his resume.

Nobody is going to make excuses if he beats benavidez. That narrative is an excuse in itself. "Dont fight him because you won't get the credit". How come he fought ryder, yildrim, Hatton, fielding and Gomez, did you give him credit for that?

greater as in a better overall fighter/boxer than chavez sr... i am not taking anything away from sr... with 100+ fights, that's hard to do.. but you have to also be honest.. 90% of the fighters on sr's resume aint really nothing to brag about.. canelo is a better fighter and will rank higher than chavez sr.

All I'm saying is make Nell believe ( even if falsely) although it is a high risk fight, it is also a high reward fight. A very high reward.
