I dont know when and why Canelo started getting mentioned with the greats but he aint no ATG. He is near Oscar status.

The public isnt really calling for Benavidez and Morrell the way they are for Canelo vs Benavidez. Benavidez may be ducking Morrell but fighting the winner of Beterbiev vs Bivol wouldnt be a duck imo

John Ryder was a mandatory and a legit top 5 contender. That wasnt the cherry pick. The cherry pick was moving 154 pound Charlo up 2 weight clasess

Mr.ryder, while I'm happy he got a paycheck, was a cherrypick too. I'll tell why, he was scheduled to fight Morrell Jr right after the DMJ vs caceres fight for an immediate mandatory postion, he was at ringside with hearn and everything was set for a showdown. After the fight and a good look a the Cuban, Hearn announced that ryder was moving up to fight bivol, that was back in 06/2021. Morell jr has defended his mandatory position five more times after that fight, benavidez was the other mandatory and both were willing and available, but some how after beating an 8-3 guy, getting a controversial decision against jacobs and another win against another domestic level fighter, he magically appears as an opponent for canelo. There's nothing legit about that. The real legit wete too dangerous for ginger.

What fight were you watching??, he hit clean to the body but I scored that fight a draw vs Lara, it's alr to say canelo lost or won the fight

I watched the same fight, there's no way canelo won 9 rounds and he was throwing bombs to the air. A draw would have been controversial but a least wouldn't have a lost. Definitely not a win for canelo. He never mentioned Lara again nor fought another elite or world level boxer until he thought ggg was done. Then he believed in his own hype and went for glory against another elite fighter in bivol.

Can kind of see Canelo being petty and swooping in to fight the winner at 175, then vacating the belts if he managed to win somehow, and going back to 168 rather than fight Benavidez just because he's that much of a duck. I don't think he beats any of those 3 though.
