jim lampley and larry merchant disagree, saying ''jones has been so dominant that the competition has run out on him, two 168 belt holders, steve collins and frankie liles, have rejected big money offers to fight with jones. At 175 pounds he hopes to lure Virgil Hill, the recognised lightheavyweight champion. Happily, the only prizefighter out there that seems positively eager to fight roy jones is montell griffin''

Chris Byrd had fought in the heavyweight division for a few years, so was used to fighting big men. He was also a good 15-20lbs heavier than the Jones who fought Ruiz. Byrd also showed that he had a decent chin, and a big heart. Jones could have done the same thing to Tua as Byrd did, bit I don't think he could have done it for 12 rounds.

Also, while Jones went to the ropes often, he really wasn't as great at fighting off the ropes as Byrd was. I can't imagine Jones going against the ropes fighting Tua and being able to hold him off.

He would have to use the jab and foot movement constantly and I'm not sure if he could have done that at 35 years of age against a bigger, stronger David Tua.

The story of Roy Jones' career.

The sequel will be starring Mayweather.

                Hopefully not though.

people should pay more respect instead of yapping their mouths about **** they dont know sayin he avoided every credible fighter
STFU! Douglas was so fat and washed up at the time it wasn't even funny. Tua would of put Jones in a body bag.

prime jones would have schooled tua 10 times worse than byrd did.

only problem is if tua landed something.

think tarver-jones 2 and imagine it was a tua left hook landing.

and you know tua would have followed it up with something as he was going down like he always does......
