  • What’s happening with Canelo and PBC?

Do they not have the funds to match his guarantee?

Are they trying to force him into fighting Benavidez?

Are Amazon not willing to pay what Showtime paid?

I am just speculating tbh, what do people think is happening?

Just responded to this in anothe thread but yeah I don’t know, I saw he was possibly signing back with Hearn? Not sure how that’s possible.

I don’t see the point in Canelo being with PBC if he’s not going to fight Benividez.

I think they have the resources, they just want a quality fight.

PBC has Benavidez and Crawford, two opponents that many fans are excited about because they think both can beat Canelo.

Canelo seems to want to fight MW Charlo, a fight that many fans aren’t particularly excited about given the availability of the other 2.

This is going to end up being lose lose for both. PBC will not have the marquee PPV and Canelo will keep getting massive flack for not fighting Benavidez.

We'll see if the social media flack actually translates to real-world consequences though, like less ticket or PPV sales. If it doesn't, then nothing changes. Also, will PBC invest those funds in more productive ways...like Jermall/Adames, building up the likes of David Morrell and Elijah Garcia, maybe Ruiz/Wilder, keeping guys like Ramos/Mendoza/Castano active? Or is that money reserved ONLY for the likes of Canelo (and maybe Davis) and nobody else? I think losing Matias is an omen.

Big drama show, Canelo could have fought Mungia on PBC couldn't he or did he want over 35 million to fight him and PBC won't do it but Matchroom will?
Surely it won't be Berlanga after he just fought? Can't keep up with this boxing circus

I think Canelo’s sales have already been dropping. I think a weak opponent on DAZN only makes that worse.

When you have the cash cow, you need to create quality opponents. DAZN/HBO did that with GGG but no one else.

Unless he rematches Bivol, I don’t know who he could fight that moves the needle. Berlanga is a joke.

Good point. I also agree with Matias, although my worry is he will become another Andrade where no top name fights him.

I don’t have faith that PBC will build opponents. Shame because they can make quality fights. They need a FNF type platform to do this rather than PPV.

Canelo/Charlo did approximately 700k buys though, and only Davis/Garcia doing more last year iirc. The problem with Canelo is that every event needs to be PPV in order due to his exorbitant guarantee. I wonder if he's just trying to hold PBC to ransom, so that they let him go. I think PBC needs Canelo more than the other way around. Does Canelo hold DAZN's feet to the fire when he returns to their platform, or is his DAZN relationship different than his PBC one? Will he agree to take lower guarantees for other concessions? Maybe Canelo is DAZN's mole lol

Has it been mentioned how much the Prime PPVs will be? Thurman vs. Tszyu still isn't listed, and it's a month away. IDK if that's abnormal though because I don't use Prime Video.

Reynoso recently alluded to "conditions" to face Benavidez. There's something weird going on. Whatever it is definitely isn't resulting in progress for boxing.

Didnt canelo and pbc had a 3 fight contract??
can canelo freely dump pbc and go to another place without fulfilling his part of the contract?
Canelo wouldnt be able to do this unless pbc faills to fullfill their part of the contract which is a 35 million guarantee per fight..
Not having showtime to cover up for the ppv fights really hurted pbc since amazon is not on the ppv business, amazon wants free fights for prime video subscribers, canelo is really not part of the equation here..
deatails should emerge soon, but this seems to be the case most likely..

If he doesn't wanna fight Benavidez I hope they cut him loose. From the sh^t I'm seeing on twitter it sounds like Canelo wanted Mall lol.
