    Kelly Pavlik? Ricky Hatton.
    Felix Trinidad? Diego Corrales
    Antonio Tarver? Jose Luis Castillo
    Winky Wright? Juan Manuel Marquez

Lose to Jermain Taylor? Nah Floyd beat him. Zab Judah.

How is 50-50 even close to fair?

    -It was for Jones' title
    -Jones was p4p 1
-Jones BEAT Hopkins in the first fight.
    -Jones was more popular anyway

50-50 is bull****. Hopkins priced himself out.
Pavlik is a better win than Hatton not even close.

Trinidad wa s abetter win than Corrales, who is barley a HOFer let alone an ATG.

Tarver and Castillo is fair. however, Hopkins was 41 and seen as taking a suicide misson and owned him, while Castillo was thought of as selling his title, and IMO beat Floyd the first time.

Winky Wright and Marquez is a fair assesment, but again that fight was viewed as 50-50 since Hopkins was 42, while no one gave Marquez a chance and Floyd was 32.

Please, Taylor at his best was on another level to Zab, that isn't even debatable.

50-50 was reasonable, since they were 1 and 2 and both running their divisions. Hopkins is still around his number 2 spot he had back then today, and where is Jones? Even the biggest Jones fans here (reed) stated that Hopkins had the right to demand the bigger purse today, and the 50-50 he gave Jones is giving jones a big favor.

Hmm. Fight the very best fighters in your own division. Sounds like reasonable advice, Floyd.

Mayweather wants hopkins to fight the best in the division and not take a fight with Jones? Isn't that what he is doing? fighting non welterweights at welterweight at welterweight instead the best in the division?! Mosley!!

The sad thing is in the mainstream sports world Floyds word is the only one heard. Floyd is the only boxer getting mainstream coverage. People who don't follow the sport only hear Floyds side of things and because the media seems to run with everything he says.

By not moving up in weight he avoids that.
I wouldn't exactly call that "ducking", though ; Hopkins was more than available and considered moving up in weight several times during his reign at 160 but failed to do so because the price wasn't right.

However, I would also add that I'm not one to accuse Floyd of "ducking" either. He fought the very best coming up, picked on a few easy guys at 140 and 147, and now he's back to cement his status.

I think the Mosley and Pacquiao fights both happen next year and all this drama will be long forgotten by then.

floyd is just trying to come at hopkins because hopkins was pushing the issue with mosley and him getting in the ring old school style and calling him out to a fight. that is what is supposed to happen, that is how the game was before it got so compartmentalized that promoters, fighters, match makers, advisers, managers, etc, all took the real fights away from the fans, and try and turn every fighter into a cash cow cross over star. back when i watched boxing as a kid, arron pryor was calling out everyone, to their face. i remember seeing fighters grab a hold of the mic after a fight and call some other fighter in the crowd out to fight him next, direct challenges. what happened to those!?!?! when did the lawyers ruin boxing??? politics, leverage. fighters called each other out all the time throughout boxing until recent times, and now all the sudden it's taboo and disrespectful, what a load of crap, one of the toughest sports known in history has now been pussified!?!??!?!? **** that.

floyd and anyone that is claiming being butt hurt by hopkins old school tactics need to read up a bit and watch old tape of boxing, because some of yall forgot how it really is. get some thick skin..........

and for the people talking about floyd-hopkins fighting smaller guys, shouldnt be talked about??? something like that? there is a big difference in what hopkins has done in his career vs what floyd has done. it's harder to hold it down at one weight your whole career, harder than moving up, because as you get older, you naturally get heavier, even your bones get a little more dense, provided you are healthy. also in boxing fighters drop weight to have more of a advantage in weight and power, so they then naturally move up in weight when they can't drop weight anymore, their bodies wont let them, so they move up to where closer or to their natural weight. now all the sudden people are thinking the smaller man is moving up but in reality he's not dropping weight anymore, fighting at his natural weight.
hopkins held it down at 160, and when certain fighters would move up to what was their natural weight, maybe not their best fighting weight because they built their careers on dropping down, fight hopkins at his division that he cleaned out, he is all the sudden picking on smaller fighters, what a load of stink cheese in that perception. when floyd is moving up in weight but fighting guys that are smaller and not in their natural weight class, chasing floyd, now, no one is putting a gun to anyones head and saying sign the contract to fight at this weight or die, but the luring effect of money is easy enough, so the fight gets signed, but to act all superior and greater than all else throughout history and this and that, no, sorry, doesn't hold up. moving up and still fighting the smaller guys vs holding it down at one weight and fight all who comes to your door, totally different beasts.
