Comments Thread For: Berlanga Scores First KO Since 2020 To Put Himself In Canelo Sweepstakes

For the first time in five fights and more than three years, Edgar Berlanga scored a knockout. Whether his sixth-round stoppage of Padraig McCrory is sufficient to put him ahead of David Benavidez, Jaime Munguia or Jermall Charlo in the Canelo Alvarez sweepstakes is a different matter, but to hear both Berlanga and his promoter Eddie Hearn talk afterward, it would not be a surprise if the Puerto Rican were to get the call.

It’s really embarrassing watching the DAZN crew acting like company hype men rather than providing objective commentary. Edgar Berlanga is a bum, who only got this opportunity to become Canelo’s mandatory because of his nationality and who his promoter is. Nobody in their right mind believes Berlanga is deserving or that he has even the slightest chance of beating Canelo. These DAZN shills Mannix, Grisham and Mora along with Berlanga’s snake oil salesman promoter are pathetic, dishonest scumbags for trying to convince people that he is a viable, worthy contender for the undisputed world championship.

DAZN announcers are shameless hypemen, so are Top Rank's, so are PBC's etc etc etc. It is a byproduct of a broken promotional system for this sport, and just one of many maddening things that demonstrate boxing's corruption and why it can't get out of its own way.

The man Berlanga fought yesterday was even in a lower level than those he fought the first year of his career...Hearn keeps pushing this **** bag to get a big payday. What a nerve!

Next up for berlanga will be Angus Cruikshanks from Dundee. Then we can expect him against Nigel St. John-Smyth of Cambridge. And then on to the great and feared Oswyn Evans of Cardiff.

Berlanga Canelo would honestly be sooo embarrassing for the sport , more embarrassing than berlanga constantly telling us he’s a sex symbol

Mccrory is a regional fighter in Ireland and berlanga looked scared whenever he threw

Stuff like this makes Hearn so unlikeable and an antithesis to him saying he wants to grow the sport because after fighting a fringe contender in quigley Hearn tries to get bumlanga a canelo fight by putting him
in wit a guy 2 levels below quigley

Maybe let Mungia handle this clown n watch him
go thru him like a buzz saw , but canelo ?

Nah get lost , this clown is a pig in lipstick

Commentary is usually company men, but DAZN takes it to a whole new level. It's truly nauseating how they can go rounds just sucking off a fighter without even calling the damn fight.

I knew as soon as he signed with Hearn that it would be a Eurobum tour.
