Trying to figure out why it's better to go out looking like a coward and a cherry picker than going out on your shield as a Mexican boxer... He doesn't even have an 0 to protect.
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt before, but there's no defense now.

I have nothing against Canelo still wanting to be active and selectively picking opposition he wants to entertain his following, however holding all the belts hostage putting the 168 division into a halt and hypocritically proclaiming he is willing to fight anyone despite actively avoiding the top contenders seems to be a waste of time for anyone who enjoys the sport. I don't want to see 5 years of Canelo repeatedly doing this while he becomes a more limited fighter with time.
Also not sure why give the double standard of fighters having to earn to fight him if he is not going to follow through? yet picks fighters like John Ryder or fighters from lower divisions?
If he wants to fight Munguia/Berlanga/Charlo then fine, but at least let the super middleweight division takes its course by letting top contenders fight for the belts between each other and not make ludicrous statements.Last edited by Malvado; 02-26-2024, 02:13 PM.Gaydrien Boner likes this.

Except Gallo is a duck too. Take a look at how many unifications he's fought. Just ONE, across 3 title reigns. He's been running from fights vs Kazuto Ioka for years, not to mention avoiding Naoya Inoue when they were at the same weight class. And I guarantee he's not going to fight Junto Nakatani either. He's priced himself out of a lot of big fights over the years.

No, he won't fight everyone.
Go name by name of HOFers and there will be gaps between legit opponents.
Every fan is a ''stan'' of someone.
Even Fury has fans

Reynoso must not go to NSB or other social media sites.
When a boxer is popular but not to a certain group of people, his legacy is completely measured by who he hasn’t fought. See Mayweather, Floyd.
Now if Canelo changes his name to Canelochenko or Canelolev, those same people will likely judge his legacy based on who he fought instead of who he didn’t.Gaydrien Boner likes this.
