Gatti: was a popular fighter in the Northeast. He would regularly sell out Boardwalk Hall. Gatti did NOT NOT NOT need Floyd to sell a gate. Repeat: NOT. However, gatti had never had a par perview fight before Floyd, and hadn't had one after. Arturo sold the gate. Floyd sold the PPV. And here is how he did it:
At the time, Floyd was giving a zillion interviews and hyping that fight like crazy. That was when FMJ adopted the "bad guy" persona. As evidenced by all the interviews and pressers above.
Mitchell: That was a WCB fight, and the gate was middling - around 6,000 seats sold in Portland. That was an exposure fight for Floyd.
Judah: Floyd sold that fight 100% and you would be a bit ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Judah COMPLETELY disappeared between the initial presser and the weigh-in. Zab didn't do any interviews or promo events. Floyd released a bunch of training videos to G. Leon on boxing talk dot com. That fight did around 400K buys and 15,000 seats at Thomas & Mack. In zab's previous fight - in his hometown of NYC, he couldn't sell 5,000 tickets. And zab had never had a PPV before.
Baldomir: an unknown opponent. Baldo sold nothing. Obviously. That fight sold 330K ppv buys, and 10,000 at the gate.
Delahoya: Oscar had fought Trinidad, Shane, Hopkins, vargas, mayorga, etc. The most he had done was 1.2 million. With floyd, he did 2.44 million. Interpret that data as you wish.
Hatton: Ricky had three previous fights in the states: Collazo, Urango and castillo. None of those fights were sold out, and none of them were PPV. With floyd, the fight sold out in a day, and sold 950K ppv buys in the US and another million plus in the UK. interpret that data as you wish.
Marquez: JuanMan had never had a successful PPV event. His highest sales were 400K vs Pacquiao. Against casamayor, JMM sold 100K buys. Jmm had to go to Houston to fight Baby Bull Diaz. Against Floyd, Marquez did 12,000 seats an over a million PPV buys. Interpret that data as you wish.
Here are the opponents who received their highest career paydays vs Floyd:
Gatti, Judah, Baldomir, Delahoya, Hatton, Marquez.
Interpret that data as you wish.

Mosley should have lined up anyone to fight after AM, because he needs the leverage. For him to sit on the sideline for almost a year with still nothing signed ... it just plain ****** and a prime example of mismanagement.
Yes, Mosley is jealous of Floyd, because Floyd has made the right business decisions time after time with much success. I'm not talking legacy here - I'm talking BUSINESS and career management and Floyd is a GIANT compared to Mosley in that department.
By the way, are you one of a group of 4 friends, the others named Porthos, Athos, and D'Artagnan????

It's not even a debate. There is noone else for him to fight so it makes no damn sense. You only have 3 options Floyd. Shane, Pac, or Cotto. Unless you go up to MW that is it, period.

how does Mayweather have fans?Talking all this **** about who can gross what, and still refuse to even consider Pac as an opponent without his bull**** terms. Historic numbers can be made with this fight if Pac can get past Cotto. This would surpass numbers ODLH and Tyson did. One thing is though that the fight might not live up to the hype, I think Cotto/Pac will live up to it's because of the styles.

2) Please name the fights where Floyd "stunk out the house" Leading up to, and including, the gatti fight.
3) You haven't offered any data or info. Not a bit. Only opinion, and "I heard thats". Can you please offer some facts to back up your assertions? Like I did.
4) Here is Gatti in the fight prior to Mayweather:
Since you were giving so much weight to the commentators, what are they saying about gatti at the end?
5) May I ask how long you have been a dedicated boxing fan?
I haven't been a boxing "fan" [the word comes from "fanatic"] since I was about 16 years old, a very long time ago. I am an interested observer'. In between I had 62 amateur fights with a record of 59-3, having lost my 2nd fight, and last 2. Unfortunately for my last 2 fights, I had discovered "girls", and hadn't trained for at least a year, (except with the girls). I have also been a boxing judge for over 5 years-amateur of course.
If you would like to know more about my private life, you'll have to email me privately-and then I'll think about it.

I would've bashed Floyd for fighting Mosley after seeing Shane's lackluster performance over Mayorga. But I think Mosley says he didn't perform up to par in that fight due to feet blisters regarding the shoes he was wearing. And I thought Margarito would beat Mosley before the fight happened, but now that Margarito is out of the picture, that fight is pointless. The fight to be made is Mosley-Mayweather.
Mosleys best days were when he was a lightweight. He was unbeatable, absolutely dazzling. He's not that any more, but still good.
