Em.... No, I don't think so.

He'll be ranked highly for sure but not higher than Ali. People seem to compare them because along with being great fighters, they are known for being trash talkers and hyping their bouts. The difference is that while Ali had charisma and was colorful on the mic, Mayweather mostly comes of as an hyped up high school jock.

You guys are the equivalent of Ali's haters in the 60's. You can try to discredit Floyd "Money" Mayweather with your weak attempts all you want, but when it's all said and done you'll be on his nuts claiming you were a fan since day one.

I see even mayweather fans in here sayin that Mayweather is no where close to Ali or any of the ATG's. I will admit he has amazing skills, but anyone can look great facing B level opponents. The only outstanding fighters on his resume are De la hoya, Castillo (who he lost to) and Juan Manuel Marquez.

you can go on and on all day about how amazing floyd is and how we will all worship him as some boxing god at the end of the day. People said the same thing about Calzaghe and 70% of the boxing fanbase still don't like him (rough estimate, probably totally wrong but atleast a minimum of 47%)

In the end no one will be able to live up to the ATG's of the past, expecially in the 60/70's becuase the level of opposition in those times were nothing but ATG fighters for every weightclass. I am confident to say that the 60-80's had the highest percentage of ATG's in any era ever. So even if mayweather beat all the best WW's of this day and age he would never be close to Ali, Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Lenoard, Robinson or any other fighter from that time.

And just to set down the solid statement of why he will never be greater than Ali (yes im an Ali fan but im also a mayweather fan) Ali faced THE GREATEST fighters of his time. Frazier, Bonavena, Quarry, Liston, Williams (one of ali's most amazing performances even though Williams had been injured before the fight) Patterson, Foreman (hits so hard he knocks the fat out of burgers) Shavers and Holmes (retired after the loss) Mayweather could never live up to Ali's resume no matter how hard he tried. Unless he built a time machine went back and beat all of the great welterweights then he might be close to Ali's achievments.

I dont know why i took such time writing such a long opinion as I know you will do the typical mayweather nuthugger thing and disregard everything ive said and then make a comment on what im saying now or say something like (your just jelous of floyd/your butthurt becuase floyds better than 'insert name'/ i lol at your floyd hating.

        Have a good one champ

You're an idiot if you seriously believe he leaves his whole career in their hands. They're basicly his advisers. Public figures say things to dance around certain questions in the media from time to time. You should know that by now.

The Oscar who fought Forbes wasnt the same Oscar who nearly killed himself in training to prepare for Mayweather. Oscar himself said it was one of the best performances of his career. You take a major loss for this post.

Sorry, but i'm not in the mood to read an essay written by a 15 year old. If you're lucky i might get around to it later.

In terms of skill, i think most would agree that he's unmatched in all era's of boxing (whether they'll admit it or not) and at the age of 32 he has plenty of time to rack up enough accomplishments to reach GOAT status. Despite what haters say to discredit his impressive accomplishments, his record already reads like a who's who of A-list boxers and if his recent performances have any indication on the future don't expect him to lose anytime soon.

Take my word for it, when it's all said and done and the dust settles Mayweather is gonna be recognized as one of the greatest of all time. Ali had his fair share of haters in his day too and they all ended up on his nuts by the time he retired. Expect the same to happen with Mayweather.
