He already has the recognition. He's the #1 cash cow of boxing. The problem is that he doesn't realize it and is so insecure about other boxers receiving praise he gets so wacko.

Insecure is the last word to describe Mayweather. The reality is, he's so far ahead of the competition skill wise that there's certain fighters who shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as him. I don't blame him for setting the record straight whenever he doesnt get full credit for being one of the greatest of all time. It's no different from what Ali used to do when ignorant members of the boxing community used to underestimate him.

There's a big difference of displaying your skills against the likes of Gatti and the other senior citizens. Ali fought ATGs on their prime, Floyd was fighting great fighters past their prime.
