What Fan Base Has The Lowest Boxing IQ?

I voted Pacquiao.

Pacquiao fans - As was already said, Pac has a huge (majority filipino) fanbase who ONLY follow Pacman. Checkout Pacland.com if you don't believe it.

Mayweather fans - As Cotto-Rulez said, you have to be a boxing fan to appreciate Mayweather's style. The only thing is some of his fans defend every single thing he does no matter how ridiculous the **** is.

Cotto fans - Like Pac, most of Cotto's fans are his fellow countrymen. The difference is the Ricans as well as Mexicans have a rich boxing history and are both very knowledgeable about their sport. The problem with alot of Cotto fans is that they overrate him way too much.

Klitschko fans - They should be on the list. Alot of them care more about having a white european dominating the HW division than they do about boxing. Though some of his fans do know their history and I think the Klitschko's get **** on too much in this forum.

Mayweather fans know about boxing cause you have to be a HARDCORE boxing fan to appreciate his style. Some of them just happen to be blind and accept every **** their fighter do.

I'm not sure how much truth there is in your comment there. I know guys with zero knowledge of boxing, they know nothing of it's history, no ability to analyze styles, etc., yet they like watching Mayweather and think "he's the man".



While I'm sure there is some truth to what you're saying, I know for a fact that there are people who are fans simply because of Mayweather's persona. In other words, I don't think you necessarily have to be a hardcore boxing fan to appreciate Mayweather's style, but one thing I know for sure is some people are suckers.

hmmm..Well I consider myself a fan of all boxing, but this is how I see it

I've encountered shallow, vapid, unreasonable people from all fan bases. But I'd say on a sheer numbers game, that Pac has the edge for now with unthinking fans.

Simply because he's #1 right now. Anyone that is considered #1 is going to have a large portion of crossover fans that don't know ****. Bandwagon types that just want to be rooting for the top guy. Although, I think it is unfair to say the Philippines just learned about boxing through Pacquiao. Muhammad Ali made waves over there way before Pacquiao. Maybe its safer to say a lot of this generation of Filipinos was reintroduced to boxing through Pacquiao.

The exclusive Klitschko fans are similarly fanatic, but due to a sluggish (at best) crossover appeal from European to American markets, their presence remains a minority in most places.

Concerning Mayweather fans, I mean the guy gets so much hate that I can't help but try to defend him every now and then. Especially from "coward" remarks and other such sheer nonsense.

Not to worry though, If Mayweather defeats Pac, and others, he will definitely get the edge up on dumbass bandwagon crossover fans. lol

Pac fans seem to be the least knowledgable about boxing. Cotto fans seem to hate everything thats against a rican fighter. Mayweather fans are fans of boxing and like other fighters and many are fans of Cotto and Pac such as myself.
