I normally don't kick snow on a fighter when they lose, but in this situation I think it is warranted. Does anybody remember during the last Boxing After Dark telecast when Max Kellerman was describing the 130 lb picture, he called Linares a future star and Soto a good beltholder? This is what I can't stand about these fighters being given preferential treatment before they earn it. I'm not raining on Salgado's parade, and I realize he may turn out to be a good fighter. But who the fuck did Linares beat that made some people think he was so great?

Champbox mentioned earlier that this is why Top Rank is a good promoter. I agree that they match their up and coming fighters in a more intelligent way. But I'll bet you that Arum is kicking himself right now for not matching Soto in a unification fight. Soto needs to leave Top Rank if he expects to get a decent fight. It seems like Donaire and Soto get the secondary treatment from Top Rank like Margarito did earlier in his career.

saw this in the morning(when the forum was dead for some reason)..........nearly crapped my pants, but linares just got caught really.....i want to see him be more active......he had looked like he was losin a step because of his long layoffs against diaz and garcia.....especially with his defense.....he stands to straight up.......he will be back though........when the talent is so obvious you cant jump off the wagon.....thats why i think if victor ortiz gets his **** together mentally, he will be back too.....
