  • Is Golden Boy Promotions back???

Anyone else notice the moves Golden Boy been making lately. They just signed Jose Ramirez, Arnold Barbosa and Charles Conwell in the last month or so. Now there the lead promoter for a big PPV in Garcia vs Haney @ the Barclay Center. Not to mention there’s rumors of Al Haymon only paying Canelo’s $35 mil guarantee if he fights Golden Boy fighter Munguia on Cinco de Mayo weekend… I think the rumors of Golden Boy’s demise where largely exaggerated.

There are natural ebbs and flows in the relative powers of promotional companies depending on what fighters they have.

Only this strange new generation of promoter fanboys is invested in pronouncing the superiority or demise of particular promoters.

My concern is good fights being made, as should everyone else's be.

Could care less which promoter on top, just find it fascinating how Oscar was able to steer Golden Boy Promotions from turning into another Main events or DiBella Promotions after Canelo’s departure. Truthfully, they seem to be in better position at the moment than PBC who seems to be losing fighters every week

They've definitely got some good fights coming up. Zepeda-Hughes and Goulamirian-Zurdo are both very good. Munguia looks to be in a strong position. Vergil's last fight was a bit of a debacle but hopefully he'll return soon with a decent opponent (maybe a Metcalf or somebody).

As far as I'm concerned GBP has been offering the most valuable US content on DAZN for yrs even when they werent trending up like they are now. Eddie's US shows have been meh to sh^t outside of a quality one here or there.

I think GBP probably got 10M or so from that Ryan vs Tank fight that got them making more moves. Oscar talking about building his own fooking venue since that fight lol.

So many on here worried about promotional outfits it makes me laugh
You think the promoters give a fugh about these guys who come on the site cheering the promotional outfits
            Lmfao
Let them do what they do and you do what fans are supposed to do
Your opinion or your thoughts don’t mean chit to them

I thought Fishnets was in rehab again TBH. If he gets GBP back popping more power to him. Makes the sport better.

Also gives me more material for jokes.

Pbc been shelving their fighters for years. When this 1st ppv card flops, and it will, Amazon gonna look dumb af
