Froch and Groves struck whilst the iron was hot, it was an immediate rematch, fresh after the controversial ending to the first fight.

Taylor and Catterall let their momentum go to waste. Taylor got soundly beaten by Teofimo, Catterall remained inactive for a year and then stunk the joint out against Linares.

Imagine following Froch-Groves 1, Froch got soundly beaten by say Golovkin moving up to 168, meanwhile Groves doesn’t fight for a year and finally fights a faded former champion like Jermain Taylor and stinks the joint out. Do you think that rematch still sells out Wembley?

Hearn is doing his best to sell this fight, that's for sure. The only things this fight has in common with Froch vs Groves is it's a rematch and they don't like each other. Taylor-Catteral 1 was a crummy fight. If they make part 2 a war and someone gets knocked out I'll stand corrected.

Yeah nowhere near as exciting as Froch-Groves 1.

Tbf to Hearn as well, it was Boxxer/Sky who dropped the ball in making the rematch. Matchroom are trying to breathe life into this fight but the ship has sailed now I think. It still has some market value but it’s nowhere near as big as it would’ve been in 2022.

Catterall will give him a proper beating this time. It won't be close.

Didn't really care for this fight when it was announced but the press events have done the trick and now I can't wait for it.

Cat looks fat in that picture. I'm pretty sure Josh is planning to drain him at 140.

"When they look at each other, they want to destroy each other. If they went at it in the street, it’d be to the death."

I'd like to think this isn't true. I appreciate Hearn is just trying to sell the fight, but talk of fighters killing each other -- even in a hypothetical -- crosses a line for me. Has to be plenty of other ways to hype the fight without going there.

The last part of this with Hearn is actually the biggest point for me: This is a huge stakes, cross road fight for each of these guys careers. Loser is not going to get any other fight of value. Yes, they can assume gate keeper level and still make some money going forward, but whoever is on the wrong end of this one will provide zero interest to anyone not just looking for a name to pad a resume.

Throw in the debated result of the first fight and the lack of love and hugging from these two it is an easy sell for a boxing fan. But one of these two men will have to accept what their careers are when it is over. Boy, it will SUCK for these two if it ends in a lackluster, kiss your sister draw.....
