How did Roy Jones Jr not get knocked down by this punch from James Toney

He turned with that shot. Not really what I would call a solid punch.

Just because it makes noise, doesn't mean it landed flush, Leather skimming skin can make a loud noise, but its obvious from how his shoulders turn with his head, that he turned with the punch, and not the other way around.

He was turning but he still got hit hard. It just wasn't a stationary target to hit or a hit where you are stepping into the punch, like Walcott did with Marciano or Tyson did with Lewis.

Jones chin is not glass as many think, those of us that followed his career for a long time have seen him hit many many times clean and all anybody wanna talk about is the two KO's. Tarvers punch would have KO'd just about anyone.

Seemed like it skimmed him, to me.

I would hazard a guess that it was mostly leather that landed on Jones there, and not so much in the fist department.
