It's a simple question. Any guesses, speculations, assumptions....

Didn't Barrios pick up an 'interim' WBC belt?

Don't know. More important is both sides want the fight. Barrios calls Ennis out, Bozy/Boots said, "We're in."

I don't pay much attention to pronouncements like that, it's often just for optics. They probably both prioritised their positions with the WBC and IBF respectively.

Not saying this is the better fight for Boots than the Crowley fight, although Barrios fought the more established opposition. Curious thing to reflect on is why such fight didn't get made when both parties have been fighting on the same platform?

Cause Boots and his team try discrediting all fighters not named Bud
Imo , he’s full of chit
Should be fighting no matter who cause at this point he’s just another number but idiots here think he’s entitled to some special treatment

Doesn't really matter. Bozy Ennis was looking at only 2 fights. Barrios or Crowley. Nobody else. Maybe because he likes being associated with the PBC side of things. He wants none of Conor Benn, for example, Santillan, Cobbs, etc. non-PBC guys. He won't even look at Hearn's offer. Maybe he will eventually when he runs out of ideas for his Boots.

Seems clear PBC will never do anything for Boots' inactivity issue. And it took IBF's order to at least shake things up.

Or perhaps it's Bozy's cherrypicking fights is the main issue.

These are whack fights anyway. Lipinets, Dulorme and Villa were all decent wins but Ennis has yet to have a career defining fight and he’s in his prime still. But primes don’t last very long in boxing, and they vary greatly by style.
