  • Canelo fans, fanboys and casual fans....honest question

Who do you want him to fight this year and why?

I don't wanna hear excuses on why he shouldn't fight whoever, what he doesnt have to prove, why so and so doesnt deserve it, etc....

Benavidez in May. Munguia in September.

I think this is the only way I like Munguia in the mix. If Saul were to beat Benavidez convincingly, a Jaime showdown on diez y seis would be HUGE in Mexico (Azteca stadium). I think he runs through Jaime imho but would be fun while it lasted

Yeah. I think both fights are incredible, fan-friendly matchups. I regard Canelo as the favorite in both fights, but both Benavidez and Munguia represent very real threats to Canelo, especially if he shows up in anything less than peak condition. Canelo has enough skill and experience to overcome both of these young lions, but the x-factor will again be his conditioning/engine over 12 rounds. Whatever happens, let’s hope for an emphatic victory by the winner with no scoring controversy.

I have a feeling that Canelo will be contradicting himself. He stated that Crawford is a lose-lose situation if he fights him because he is from 3 divisions below. But somehow Errol Spence somehow is a listed contender.

Canelo's fans would be defending his pretext that Bud debuted at lightweight and Errol Spence was always physically big for a welterweight (being in a division Canelo debuted at) similar to how Jermell Charlo was a natural middleweight.

If ain't Errol, then it's definitely Demetrius Andrade.

            - - Prob only May and Sept Mexican holiday fights vs most likely in order #2 Charlene sista, Muguia, and then set up Benavidez before retiring post Cinco de Mayo 2025.

Then the usual suspects on this forum gonna have to find a new butt to kick around.

Not really a Canelo fan but I'm guessing Adrade in May and hoping Benavidez in September

David Benavidez in May. David has been interim champ for Canelo's primary belt for almost 2yrs now. Hes looked like the best competitor for Canelo at 168 for yrs. The fact these two haven't fought yet says everything about why casual fans ARE casual fans instead of watching boxing with the loyalty of a bottom b^tch hooker to her pimp like many of us.

Im more indifferent on Sept. Morrell, Mbilli, Osleys, Munguia etc & so on could all step up & have a big fight between now & Sept that makes them the Next Guy & I'm not opposed to any of them making a good fight vs another higher level guy that makes the winner the Sept opp. I also wouldn't be opposed to Canelo trying the 175 thing again, if he is down, & fight the Beterbiev vs Bivol winner.

Both those match ups are gross. I truly hope they dont happen whatsoever and if they do i cant see even his most ardent fans/fanboys defend that bs
