Ngannou has an impressive MMA resume and gave Fury all he could handle in a boxing match. The fact of the matter, his boxing resume only consists of one fight. Very small sample size. Would we be rating him as high if he had 5 matches, 10 matches, etc? It's possible but it's entirely possible we may see more flaws than that one fight against Fury (who has had issues of motivation and conditioning in the past).

    Just food for thought.

      Ngannou punches way harder.
And Ruiz has proven he has a very exceptional chin. I don't think the there's any question about Ngannou having the power, the question is can he survive long enough to land it.

It will most likely be exactly that
AJ knows that mma guy can crack so , best next option is to box him from afar lol
Wonder if anybody showed AJ the shoulder roll ?
        Just sayin’

Imagine and this is the guy , bearing he wins , that will be fighting for the heavyweight championship
It doesn’t get any worse than this and all because his excellency has flexed his power

Ngannou has taken kicks and elbows which are way harder than punches with gloves on.

"Pointier" maybe, but not harder. The whole point of gloves is that you can hit harder wearing them. That's why MMA doesn't have the same level of brain trauma tragedies.

                Here is why.

                1. He is stronger than AJ, an experienced grappler, and wrestler, he will be able to wear AJ down in the clinches by the 4th round as AJ does not have a real gas tank, and panics when shoved out of his comfort zone.

                2. He has heavy hands, it won't take much to shake AJ up, even a grazing shot, and once Francis has him in trouble, AJ won't have the stamina, the cojones, or the will to stand up after he is hurt

                3. Francis showed surprising counter punching ability, especially inside, he has the hand speed, and surprising timing, these are among the ingredients to force AJ into a fight.

                Just my two cents
All valid, but relies on the fight being fought in close.

Joshua won't want that fight. Ngannou will. Who's fight gets fought will be a big deciding factor.

Personally I think Joshua will stay outside and be too good. But if Ngannou can get up close then he'll make it very interesting.

definitely harder. smaller harder contact area = stronger impact. physics 101

which is why boxers don't normally get KOed in high guard, MMA fighters get KOed all the time with just a high guard.

                  kicks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. punches

Ngannou has taken kicks to the head etc in MMA and always looked granite.

When Floyd fought Connor, Connor was known for gassing terribly in MMA and Floyd exploited that as it carried to boxing.

Ngannou didn't have any such weakness. There's no proof whatsoever that Ngannou will go to pieces when the first hard shot lands in fact there's evidence to the contrary.

Fury may not hit incredibly hard but his punches had zero effect on Ngannou who has an Easter island stone head. Fury threw a flush ELBOW that didn't even make Ngannou blink ffs.

Now I have no doubt AJ hits harder than Fury and can hurt Ngannou, but it's not going to be with a single shot, he's going to have to be peppering Ngannou with stiff jabs, make Ngannou work, get him raggged and tiring then start dropping right hands in and yeah eventually I could see ngannous legs starting to wobble if AJ is able to land power shots repeatedly.

But it's gonna take some doing to get there and AJ has to be careful not to take ANY return fire

                    Easier said than done.

A very safety first AJ points win in a terribly boring fight in which Ngannou is never hurt is most likely.

                      1. AJ is mentally fragile
                      2. When AJ gets swarmed, he falls apart.
                      3. AJ is a stiff bodybuilder robot who doesn't move well.
